My daughter is turning 4 in a few days and has been seeing Dr. Shibayama since she was an infant. This review is way overdue and I just want to say that she is an outstanding Dr. and overall human being. She has always taken such great care of my daughter, given us great advice, and has been such an amazing support system to families like ours that have such a long road to good visual acuity. Seeing my daughter look forward to seeing Dr. Shibayama and knowing she's in great hands has been such a rewarding part of our journey. Dr. Shibayama is patient, takes the time to answer all your questions, and treats her youngest patients with the utmost respect. There is no one else I would trust more with our daughter's RGP contact sizing and overall needs. Thank you Dr. Shibayama, we love you!

My son who is 12 has been going to Dr. Shibayama for a few years and has high progressive myopia. We tried contact lenses to slow down the myopia but his astigmatism made him ineligible for the contacts shortly thereafter.
She then suggested glasses from Canada that would slow down the progression of myopia and it works. We also do the atropine drops like many other providers. No other eye providers have suggested the lenses.
She is great with my child, who is not great with doctors.

I cannot say it any other way than this - Dr Shibayama is a CONTACT LENS GENIUS. I've had the most complicated vision problems since the age of 2 -childhood strabismus, severe astigmatism, nearsightedness and now the added joy of 52 yr old eyes and difficulty reading. Unfortunately I could never simply get a prescription filled and expect to be able see.
Dr Shibayama's unparalled knowledge about every available option and endless patience in finding the perfect lenses to correct my vision has left me with the sharpest, most stable AND MOST COMFORTABLE contact lenses I've had in over 10 years! It was definitely a process that required testing the different types of lenses and it wasn't inexpensive- but what's more valuable than good eyesight? The world seems new again and I'm marveling at everything I see. The same hikes I've been doing for 4 years seem entirely different. Everything looks so beautiful I can hardly believe my eyes!
