Peninsula Optometric Center: Monterey

Nice looking place but, some of the staff, not all of them, some are just not nice. Like you being their customer is bothering them, she does not want to give any info if you ask a simple question she makes you feel like your a bad person or offending her or doesn't want to be bothered by the customers. They could care less if a customer is running behind and might be there just before closing. They make sure to close early knowing you driving hours to get there

I love this place! Everyone's friendly. The ophthalmologist is the best. She always walks in with such a Great vibe, great presents, contagious energy... She's the best.

I was a patient of theirs for 2 years. Initially, the front desk woman who helped me pick out my glasses was very helpful. Once I received my glasses and discovered it was not the correct prescription, however, attitudes completely changed. When I went back to let them know that I could not see with my glasses on, they were very annoyed and made it seem like it was my fault. I had a new appointment with the optometrist to reevaluate my eyesight, and was ordered a new pair of glasses with this new prescription. AGAIN, it was not the correct prescription. As soon as I put my glasses on at the store, I let them know that my vision was still blurry. The front desk staff seemed borderline enraged. They scheduled another visit, I got a 3rd prescription and before I left, the front desk made sure to let me know in an incredibly annoyed tone that this would be the last time they would "do this for me" ! How is it my fault that I had to have 3 separate appointments with the doctor because they couldn't get my prescription right? They treated this as though they were doing me a favor rather than addressing it as the nuisance for me that it was.

Dr. Bockenstedt was amazing! First time seeing her and had an overall great experience. All the staff I interacted with, they were all very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly!

The staff & Dr were all very polite, they answered all my questions. I also appreciate how well kept & clean their building is on the inside.

Hands down the best in Monterey County for courteous, professional patient interaction. Well done. Thank you all. See you next time.

I was happy with my doctor. She was kind,gentle and knowledgeable. The girls are helpful and very good helping to pick out frames.

Felt rushed with selecting glassware. Sales person did not give me a description of the options available. She did not explain what the 4 walls of glasses were. She did not ask what style that I was looking for or how many I was looking for. Only brought me like 5-6 pairs, no description or details and no prices on any products. Felt bad just to ask what my options are. I was very rushed. Customer service was not good. The Tech and the Dr were awesome. However, my experience with selecting glassware was very poor and I will not be back. It seamed like they just wanted me to hurry and spend money and get out of their hair. I probably spend more time looking at a food menu than I did picking out the glassware I wanted. I think this decision needs to handled differently as you wear your glasses everyday and they become a part of who you are. It is a personal choice. I also noted that none of the persons helping wore glasses themselves. Might explain the rush to get me out of there as they do not relate to their customers.
