Costco Optical Department

Save your time! Don't go here! Last year we had a horrible experience but my wife and I thought we would give them another try. The Appt time which I had the card in my wallet said 11:30. They told us we didn't have an appt! But they said they would work us in. Than after taking 12 walk ins ahead of us they said we did have an apt for just 1 of us at 11:45...than 5 minutes later they said 12:00 noon....than 10 minutes later our appts were now at 12:30..they said they found the appts on the schedule at 12:30...Again I had the appt card saying 11:30....What a scam going on there. They run you through like cattle. Fast food...walk ins first! Lie about appt times. Unexperienced people doing eye tests...a total joke! Now let's go to the glases dept! Its even worse than the doc exam! 20+ people waiting with 1 person working! The wait would be at least 4 hours! Last year was much the same. This year we just walked out. Hearing so many people complaining. Waiting over 2 hours already.. They have the same horrible glasses dept. Mgr. She is one of the rudest people I've ever personally dealt with anywhere and she's still there. Amazing! So save yourself the time the stress and go elsewhere. Costco doesn't give you a discount in the glasses dept. Or Dr visits. They are a separate entity after calling the Costco main office we found out. We won't be back! Ever!!!

Rude employees who don't like to work. My son broke his glasses so I was looking for a replacement. I stopped by here and took a ticket when I got there. Waited about 10 minutes and 2 employees were just wasting time behind the counter and another one on a laptop and nobody calling out a single number. It was my first time there so I asked one of the ladies what I needed to do to buy a pair of glasses, but she didnt even look at me and just said to take a number and wait. I continued waiting for another 10/15 minutes and decided to leave as nobody was calling any numbers. I would understand if they were busy but nobody working there had the decency to check in with their customers. They have no interest in helping nor wanting to sell glasses. You definitely lost me and my family as a customers

greatest prizes, nicest doctor and staff. division center guy got me a great deals and discounts I got three pairs of glasses for under $500. designer glasses the best.

Around June 11 there was a power outage which required the doctor to hand write my prescription. The first one was wrong. But I got an updated one, which Costco used to order my contacts. I should have looked more carefully because that one was wrong as well. Now I'm dealing with a nightmare with the insurance company to refund Costco for my contacts all because this office is incompetent at writing prescriptions. I would imagine that in the medical field that writing false prescriptions would have consequences but I suppose it's up to the patients to eat their mistakes. Stay away from this place.

Front desk people are so rude!!! I took my daughter to get her eye exam. When the front desk clerk ask if she was wearing contacts I told her no, and that she was wearing them, but took them off prior to coming in the office. We then follow her inside then she tells my daughter to remove her eye contacts. I told her that we had told her that she removed them and that she is not wearing them at the moment. She then started making hangs expressions and replied with a "whatever". She then takes my daughter to the eye exam and took maybe 20 seconds to eyes test. When we were done we went to the other side where another guy help us with price and insurance coverage. Then the same girl came to talk to the guy that was helping us and started showing videos and things on the phone. While we are standing there and waiting for him to tent to us. Both of them were rude and unprofessional. I just couldn't believe the way we were treated. Never experienced that before. This would be the last time for sure we go to Costco for eye exam and glasses.

What a wonderful experience I had yesterday at Costco optical. I hadn't been in in a long time and they have remodeled and it was very quick and seamless. The optometrist was named Sabrina Sifter and she was absolutely amazing. Really took her time explaining things and I left leaving with a better pair of contacts than I was using all these years. Thank you so much Sabrina and team at Costco!

I've been going to Costco Optical for several years in San Diego and Palm Desert. I've always had a pleasant experience. Yesterday, I had a bad experience. The desk clerk was not very nice. I don't know if she was having a bad day or if it was personal. I had my regular contact lens appointment that I always have, I even included the optic scan. Nothing changed. When I went to pay, I was charged $20 more than what I was supposed to. When I questioned it, she gave me a lame excuse of having different lenses. "It's what the doctor told me to charge." I have never been charged more, and I can only see out of one eye! AND they weren't going to give me the complimentary lens that's included with the exam--I had to ask for it! I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

The doctor is nice and efficient. Edit: Whoever is supposed to answer the phone has very poor phone etiquette. They pick up the line then switch you to hold music without ever saying anything. Extremely rude.
