Dr. Rajvi Mehta is an exceptional ophthalmologist and a truly wonderful physician. She is friendly, kind, and courteous, and she genuinely cares about her patients. Every visit is a pleasure because she takes the time to listen, explains everything clearly, and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Her professionalism, knowledge, and above all, compassion inspire complete trust, and I feel confident knowing my eye care is in such capable hands. It is rare to find a doctor who combines expertise with such sincere dedication to patient care. I highly recommend Dr. Mehta.

In August 2025, Dr. Mehta stated that she performed laser surgery for narrow angles on one of my eyes; however, no procedure was actually done. Additionally, although my primary eye doctor recommended laser treatment for both eyes, she addressed only one eye--and even that treatment was not performed. Given the nature of my condition, multiple laser applications are typically required to create an opening in the angle. Instead, the procedure lasted less than two seconds and had no effect. Two days ago, my angle closed, and I have been experiencing significant pain and discomfort, had to visit ER for 2 days . I am currently waiting to have proper laser treatment performed on both eyes

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! This place will take unreasonable risks, put you in danger, and worse: MAKE YOU BLIND. DR MEHTA took an unnecessary & major treatment risk with my loved one who suffered blindness in one eye but still had 20/20 in the other... Well, now he's 90% blind and requires in home care. Again, run for your life! Do not give this place a consideration.

I am very pleased with the care I have received at Palo Alto Eye Group. I had some serious eye issues that required immediate attention and surgery, all of which were addressed in a timely manner. Dr. Tayeri is extremely knowledgeable and has been proactive about evaluating my eye issues and referring me to other specialists as needed. I have also seen Dr. Mehta, Dr. Chen and Dr. O'Connor and they are all top notch as well. The office can be busy at times, but the care has always been great. The office staff is very responsive and helpful and they have always found a way for me to see a doctor when I needed immediate care.

I am a Kaiser patient and finally decided to go out of network for a second opinion after getting what I felt was less than adequate care at Kaiser. I saw Dr. Oconnor and I have to say that it was one of the best things I've done for myself. I am young but have poor vision and a complex prescription with astigmatism and amblyopia. Her expertise, knowledge, ability to explain things to me, professionalism, and genuine caring nature are beyond what I have ever experienced at an eye doctor. It has made it well worth paying out of pocket!

They are the best - so good we now have four family members going there. Dr O'Connor is superb - she helped me with glasses and contact lenses over several years, dealing with a somewhat complex prescription. Dr O'Connor is now helping out my wife and two daughters. So careful, knowledgeable and supportive. The two places I always recommend people new to the Bay Area are the Palo Alto Eye Group and Dr Joy (the dentist).

I have been going to the Palo Alto Eye Group for years. Dr. Robert Kule is very competent, and has excellent "Chair-Side manners". The office staff on the other hand keeps dropping the ball. I called to confirm my appointment which had a written reminder, but was told that it was "tentative" and had to be rescheduled. The day before this re-scheduled appointment I got a confirmation, but then late that evening "Isabel" realized that she failed to get the required insurance authorization. She called and expected me to come in and sign a form accepting any possible charges! I like Dr. Kule, but he needs a better staff. Sincerely, Hazem

I've been holding off on this review; but because of continued issues and no resolutions, it's best to just submit it. The front desk was extremely unprofessional. When I made my appointment, they took my VSP insurance and I asked for a pre-authorization/ explanation of benefits. They told me I could call back in a few days for it; yet still never ran it prior to my appointment. They called to confirm my appointment and never said anything about my insurance not being accepted by the doctor's for my appointment type. I get there they asked for my health insurance card; I asked why but still didnt assume anything since I was referred and it said they were in Network. During my appointment, multiple of the staff messed up my preliminary readings and they were super rude while doing it. it felt like they were just not well trained and it was almost disappointing to be there. I was there almost 2 hours for their mix up and my doctor, Dr. Mehta was 30 minutes late to see me. When I left, I was told I had no copay and that I was all set (also good to note, there were no issues or diagnosis during my appointment. she said i was all good) Now, I have a $300 bill due to them not letting me know they wouldnt be billing my vision insurance. I'm appalled at the lack of professionalism, the misrepresentation and now the greed of this business. I called and spoke with the office manager and she didn't take any accountability. she only recommends i talk to my insurance despite the fact its an issue on their part. I won't be back and I wouldn't recommend them either.
