I paid over $700 for this glasses. And the coating is wrong, there's a patchy coating on the right lenses. I could feel it the moment I got them but the glasses are transitional, and especially visible on the sun. My rt eye feels strange after wearing them. Very poor quality. Changing my reviews because they took the glasses back to redo. So we shall see how they come out.
The older gentleman at the front desk was unwelcoming and acted as though I was a burden from the moment I walked in. He immediately assumed I didn't have the right insurance coverage, despite the fact that I did. He also asked for last four digits of Social Security number, which I later confirmed was unnecessary. He incorrectly told me I had a pending authorization and couldn't use my VSP benefit--even though a quick call to VSP right after leaving the office confirmed I still had full coverage, including for additional sunglasses. His attitude was rude, dismissive, and not at all customer-focused. This visit was a complete waste of time.
I spent close to $2000, bought fours pairs of glasses including two pairs of sunglasses. The employee shouted at me over the phone when he realized he has to correct his mistake. I told the new owner, she doesn't care because I already paid for them.
The glasses turns out to be 30% thicker than the ones I ordered elsewhere with same prescription and index, their sunglasses lenses also look much lighter than others.
I have a very strong prescription and rely heavily on the quality of my prescription glasses. The lab that Palo Alto Eyes Optometry uses is top quality, and all of the people who work there are incredibly friendly and helpful. They recently helped me replace the lenses of a pair of sunglasses damaged in an accident, within warranty. It's so important to have a good optometrist - I highly recommend Palo Alto Eyes!
A really pleasant experience with my eye exam and new glasses. Everyone in the office is extremely helpful, and the updated equipment takes away the discomfort of sudden puffs of air, drops to dilate the pupils, etc. Dr Aung was extremely thorough, walked me through my eye health by showing me images on her monitor, then oriented me to what I was seeing with a 3-d model of the eye. The staff gave me a healthy discount on a second pair of lenses that weren't covered by insurance. Keep up the great work!
Terrible things I can ever imagine happened here. I visited the office on 5/3/2023 because the contact split into two pieces in my eye, and I can only get half out.
Dr. Jung was very nice, helped to check and told me there was some scratch but nothing left in my eye (probably the other half fell out which I didn't know). After several days, I still didn't feel quite normal so visited the office again. Dr. Jung checked and told me the eye recovered well, still nothing was left inside, and the uncomfortableness will go away.
My eye still feels somewhat uncomfortable since then, and I kept using eye drops per the doctor's suggestion, and never wear any contact again. However, I found the other half in my eye yesterday on 7/1/2023, and finally got it out!!! Unbelievably, there was half contact in my eye for almost two months, and Dr. Jung was so sure that nothing was left back then.
I have to say all staff are nice, but still, I can't think of any words to express my anger and disappointment, let alone the potential risk to my eye.
Absolutely delightful little shop, ideally, located on University Avenue, the energy peaceful and warm, the selection lovely, with options from classic to chic and everything in between. I stopped in to get some treasured antique frames fixed, expecting to pay an arm and a leg, but the lovely gentleman at the front desk fixed them in seven minutes and didn't charge me a penny! I will be taking all my vision business to this wonderful shop.
I was in the other day for just regular eye exam - go here! Somehow they've hired a team of the best people, super sweet, funny, positive, encouraging, knowledgeable and helpful. Honestly wanted to be friends with everyone in shop. We need more places like this, you rarely find a shop where all of the employees standout/are phenomenal. Whoever is in charge of the hiring process, amazing job!
