Lisa is very helpful and professional. She helped me understand my prescriptions, my issue of wearing new glasses bought in another shop last year and gave me guidances to choose glasses frames that could fit me better. Great eye exam experience here that prevents me from worrying about and figuring out where the issue is coming from. I also asked some questions for contact lenses. Lisa is very patient and gave me advices as well. Really appreciated!

Dr. Lisa Lo at Standard Optometry was amazing with my three kids (ages 9, 6, and 4)! She was incredibly patient and used fun language to explain everything during their eye exams. The office was warm and welcoming. They also received a small toy to take with them for being respectful and behaving after the exams. The support staff was friendly and helpful, making the experience stress-free. Dr. Lisa Lo thoroughly examined their eyes and explained everything clearly to my wife and I as well as to the kids. We are so happy to be able to find her through a referral to replace our previous optometrist, and will definitely be returning for all our annual exams and visits. We highly recommend Dr. Lo and her team to anyone looking for someone who truly care and have the expertise in this domain and if you're a parent looking for a kid-friendly eye doctor, Lisa is the one!

My family has been seeing Dr Lo for a few years now and we are very happy. The doctor and office staff are informative and polite. We always look forward to our visits. I have seen Dr Lo both for regular annual check ups as well as when I had an eye injury (chemical burn). I am grateful for her care.

This is a great local business. Dr Lisa Lo is extremely thorough and professional, their opening hours (especially on weekends) are extremely flexible, and all their staff are courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. I used to head over to a business on Castro Street for my vision checks and glasses, but since switching to Standard last year I definitely won't go back. The experience here is more personal, and overall far better - highly recommend to anyone looking for good optometry care.

I appreciate how Dr. Lisa Lo tries to find the prescription that you truly want. For example, slightly "weaker" glasses are more comfortable for me based on my usage patterns, but slightly "stronger" contacts feel better for me, and Dr. Lo has been patient and kind in helping find this comfortable and practical balance! I've been coming here for a couple years now, and plan to continue as long as I'm in the area. The glasses / sunglasses selection is also quite decent - I'd put it in the middle bucket (I've seen places with more and with fewer options).

I went there to get my glasses fixed. The staff was very courteous and polite. They seemed to have a good collection of lenses too. Conveniently located on El Camino real, you should definitely check out this place for buying new lenses.

Do not go here if you want quality glasses. After getting glasses here I felt my eyesight was getting worse. I went to my doctor and he measured my glasses and told me the astigmatism in the right and left eye were completely wrong! I called them to check up on this and apparently they had swapped the left and the right eye astigmatism. I tried to get my benefits reenacted so I could get my glasses redone at another better location, but I had a very bad experience with the doctor. First, she didn't understand what I was saying and told me that I should expect imprecision on the cylinder in the glasses. She said it is fine if it is 5ish degrees off. That is not what you want to hear from a place making your glasses. Then after understanding that they simply messed up my astigmatism prescription on the glasses, she said it was too late to issue a refund, and in general they do not do any refunds. This is very unfair, since a simple check on their side after getting the glasses back from the lab would have allowed them to discover this error. The error is completely the fault of Standard Optometry. She said she could redo the glasses but I didn't want to get my glasses redone at a place that I no longer trust. I have been using their glasses with the incorrect prescription for over a year now. Even after knowing this, neither the doctor or staff EVER apologized about getting my glasses prescription incorrect. They did not sound apologetic or seem to care at all. Instead they tried to shift the blame away from themselves saying "they want to check the glasses" (even though my doctor already measured it) and "eyesight changes over time" and "it's ok to be imprecise on some measurements." Going back I read some other reviews of this place and it seems like there's a pattern of poor quality glasses made here. This is really sad because my previous experience with the staff here was pleasant and I felt they had a decent frame selection. However I care about my eyes and no longer trust this place to deliver me quality lenses, or to own up to their own mistakes and issue me a refund when they clearly made a mistake on their side. I don't recommend anyone to get their lenses done here. Stay away if you want to protect your eyes.

Eye exam was OK. The contacts are more expensive than other stores. They held authorization on my insurance that I could not use it for contact in another store with cheaper contacts. When I call them to release the authorization, they are so hard to reach and never picks up the phone. I won't come back next year for my eye exam. Just too much work unexpected.
