Cascade Eye Care

Cascade Eye Care in Redding has been a great place for my eye exam and follow-up care. From check-in to check-out, the staff was friendly, patient, and never made me feel rushed.The doctor explained each test and result in clear, simple terms so I understood what was going on with my eyes and what my options were. The equipment they use feels up to date, and the exam was more thorough than what I've had at other offices in the past.They also have a good selection of frames and helped walk through insurance so I knew what was covered and what wasn't. The office is easy to find and the scheduling and office hours worked well with a normal weekday schedule.Overall, Cascade Eye Care is a solid choice if you're looking for eye care in Redding, and I would recommend them to friends and family.

I have been coming to Cascade for my eye care since I moved here February 2000 and believe I have got the best treatment and care possible. I look forward to each visit and feel confident that I get the best treatment from someone who really cares

I have received excellent care here. Doctor and staff are caring and professional. The did my cataracts and restored my vision. Very pleased.

Staff member who performed my eye tests, prior to seeing Dr Kumar, was professional. Dr Kumar was thorough and knowledgeable. Frame selection is limited, but I was able to find one frame I liked. Not impressed with front desk clerk, she made a rude comment about a customer on the phone, after the call ended, who didn't realize they needed their insurance card to get an appointment. She could have just not said anything after the call was ended. I mean, what's the point in making a snide comment because someone made a mistake? It made me feel very uncomfortable. When I went in to pick up my glasses the optician just laid them in front of me, without communicating what the next steps were. When I got the glasses home they still had the measurement marks on the lenses. I feel like I have a good product with my glasses, just customer service from front office staff leaves much to be desired. As I said before, I believe the Dr and young man who performed the pre-exam screenings were professional and knowledgeable. I just believe that customers deserve more respect than to have snide comments made because they didn't know to have their insurance card. It is a mistake anyone can make. As far as the optician is concerned let's just say communicating next steps is not her strong point. The front office staff is what made my rating a four star rating.

Always a great experience, friendly, competent, caring staff. Facitities clean, bright and comfortable. Every procedure explained clearly as well as the need for and the results of the exam. I am a pre-glaucoma patient and the team works hard to give me the longest lasting eyesight.

A+++ I finally found an eye Dr I'm going to return to, as well as refer my friends and family. The entire staff was polite, friendly and happy to assist. The actual eye Dr I seen was knowledgeable, thorough and treated me as a person not just a number. He was Able to explain and tell me why my current prescription was wrong and why. which makes perfect sense because I Was never able to see clearly with the prescription I got from the doctor I seen prior.

I have no criticisms of the medical care. However, their admin support team is rude and condescending. After a treatment I was advised by the doctor of a certain time frame for a next critical treatment. When I attempted to set that appointment the girl refused to set it in the time frame medically advised. Only with polite insistence was she persuaded she was not qualified to overrule the doctor. The day before that appointment I got a call from Cascade (her name is Faith) canceling my appointment because I had failed to renew authorization from the VA. This is absurd! For the 10 years I have received treatments the care providers (I have had 3 different ones over the years) put in timely renewals without intervention from me or the VA. When I called the VA Community Care the supervisor informed me that "no", the responsibility was on the care provider to timely renew. The VA super said she would call Cascade to clear it up. When I called Faith back she was snarky and argumentative. I maintained politeness, albeit with confidence explaining their staff of young girls had dropped the ball. She acknowledged a call from the VA, but said the girl that handled VA authorizations had not been available. She was again very condescending in her tone. Now I am left to hustle for a care provider to provide timely treatment lest I go blind. The VA said they could get a new authorization, but the bureaucratic process takes 4 days. Cascade has put me in a bind because I relied upon their competence to keep their office administration from being a jumble of mixed up papers. If I cannot get treatment in time the consequences are life altering. I get no comfort from the thought of a legal compensation because no amount of money is worth my eyesight.
