Great experience from start to finish. The entire team was professional and welcoming, and Alex was exceptional in helping me pick out my new pair of glasses after my eye exam. Alex is knowledgeable, made sure I felt comfortable with my decision, and offered thoughtful, helpful suggestions without any pressure. Definitely made the process enjoyable and stress-free! Highly recommend this office and their staff.
I am a longtime client of Blue Oaks eye care. I called to get a last minute appointment and they graciously accommodated me. I saw a new doctor in the office Dr Haq who was great. She was super informative and interested in my eye history and seemed genuinely concerned about my eye health. Wonderful young lady and a great addition to the team.
It was a great experience overall. Got an eye exam relatively quick. The only thing I also would like to get, not only glass prescription but something like: advices on how to slow down the degradation, maybe exercises, or any other procedures besides the eyewear, because i can get that in any other place. You should more patient oriented (maybe it's just me). But besides my personal opinion, exam, glasses fitting, customer service 5+
Alex at Blue Oaks Eyecare was a great help to me when ordering contact lenses. He was very thorough when explaining my options including rebates. Also a great help when choosing frames. Dr. Haq and the entire staff are fabulous.
New patient at Blue Oaks Eyecare and I had such a great experience. The staff was kind and professional. Alex gave exceptional customer service and gave me numerous options to ensure the right glasses were a fit. I will be returning to this location for my yearly check up.
I had a very disappointing experience at Blue Oaks Eye Care with Dr. Haq and will not be returning. There was no attempt to build rapport, no effort to confirm the pronunciation of my name, no friendliness, and no sense that I was a valued patient. The entire visit felt cold, transactional, and dismissive. The only positive interaction was with the gentleman at the very end who checked me out -- he was kind and professional.
During the exam, I was lectured for well over 10 minutes by Dr. Haq about my dry eyes, how often I wear contacts, and why I "should" switch from bi-weeklies to dailies. I shared my reasons for preferring bi-weeklies and why I don't like wearing glasses, but every response seemed to be met with a rebuttal and disregard for my choices. I understand the importance of eye health, but the way this information was delivered felt condescending, unnecessarily harsh, and I felt like a child that was in trouble.
The assistant was also extremely robotic and a bit condescending, which only made the appointment more uncomfortable. On top of that, the optometrist repeatedly asked why my previous doctor had given me multiple prescriptions -- even after I clearly stated several times that I didn't know. The repeated questioning felt accusatory and completely unnecessary.
Overall, I left feeling talked down to rather than cared for. Patients deserve respect, empathy, and professional communication -- none of which I experienced here. I will not be going back.
I had an incredible experience here. I'd forgone eye appointments for years, so this was my first experience back and it was amazing. Both Dr. Trang and Lauren were kind, patient and knowledgeable. I highly recommend coming here.
They gave me a bad prescription, way too strong. I got a prescription here, ordered glasses from Zenni, and felt they were too strong. I went back to Blue Oaks Eyecare and had them check to be sure the glasses were made to spec. They agreed the glasses were correct to their prescription. I was then tested with the glasses and they found the prescdiption was off by +.5, which office manager Michelle described as "normal, not unusual for eyes to change that much in a month or so." That statement is incorrect. At the least, if my eyes had changed that much in that short of time, they should have raised alarm. As a simple Google search shows, "A rapid change of 0.5 diopters in a month is considered a significant shift and warrants immediate attention from an eye care professional to rule out underlying issues." I believe Google in this case, and I don't believe my eyes changed that much in that short of a time. In my opinion, this is not an optometrist to go to.
