The doctors here are the best I have ever had! Kaiser took 20 appts and couldn't figure out what was wrong with my eyes. 3 minutes into my appt Dr. Grand had diagnosed me and come up with a plan to correct it. Dr. Mellis was so nice and helpful to explain things in a way I could understand. 10/10!!
Saw Dr. Grand for growths on my eyelid. I was asked if I wanted them removed right then and there, I had to push to understand what they were. I agreed on the pretense that they were benign and it was a quick fix.
Dr Grand insisted I only needed the topical numbing cream and began to cut, I felt immediate pain and then the feeling of blood running down my face. His attitude was an "oops, didn't realize a blood vessel was feeding that" and he then went to get the numbing injection. He finished removing the growths and cauterized them. I was shocked to see what I was left with. I asked him about heeling, which he said I only needed neosporin, and scars which he said even if it did scar, it would "look better than what was there before" in a very flippant manner, and I was sent on my way with no follow up appointment. It in fact does not look better, they are filled with either blood or liquid and I have been having issues with headaches since.
Getting someone on the phone in the office has been difficult, there are always at least 5 people ahead of me. I was finally able to reach someone and hopefully I will be able to follow up. But I'm concerned that I will live with these grotesque marks on my face now.
Dr. Grand is an excellent physician. I get procedures done to help with my migraines and he does a phenomenal job. Since working with them, my symptoms have been much better. I even moved to the Bay Area and I still drive all the way out here to see him.
Extremely nice and professional people working there.I was in and out on no time. Very satisfied with my visit.
I had orbital decompression and tarsorrhaphy surgery performed by Dr. Grand on November 26. Before the surgery, I asked countless questions and voiced all of my concerns. Dr. Grand repeatedly assured me that I would look better than my before pictures -- that I would look "normal." He convinced me this was the best option for me, even before trying less invasive treatments like Tepezza.
When I woke up, I was told I wasn't allowed to look in the mirror -- "doctor's orders." That alone should have been a red flag. Now, six months later, I'm left looking disfigured. He stitched the corners of my eyes and altered my appearance in a way that has completely devastated me. I should have followed my instincts, but I trusted him because of how confident he sounded. Instead of looking normal, I look like a monster -- and I've been heartbroken and depressed ever since.
On top of everything, there has been no follow-up care. He told me he would follow up in six weeks, but I haven't seen or heard from him since. It has been months. I've been left to deal with the aftermath on my own -- physically, emotionally, and mentally.
This surgery was not right for my situation, and it was pushed on me without first exploring other options. I feel misled, abandoned, and like I've lost a piece of myself. I'm anxious to even leave my home now. No patient deserves to go through this. We deserve honesty, full disclosure of all options, and proper aftercare -- not empty promises and irreversible damage.
I hope my experience encourages others to seek multiple opinions and to never ignore their instincts, even if a doctor tries to reassure you. Ask questions, do your research, and protect yourself. I wouldn't wish this outcome on anyone
Saw a girl named Roseanna and she was very thorough and very helpful. Spent most of my time with her. Last time I saw Dr Rojas she was very short with me so I thought she may just have been in a bad mood that day. The next time I saw her I saw her for maybe 2 minutes at the most and just told me to come back in 6 months. I felt like she didnt have much time for me.
I want to give a fair review of this business. For starters, Dr. Grand and Dr. Tucker are great. Truly. However, this business does not operate properly. The front office staff routinely shares incorrect information (location of appointments and what office doctors are working from) and are just plain rude. While waiting for my appointment (running considerably behind schedule), several patients went to the front desk to voice their concerns about the above items (made me feel better knowing I wasn't the only one). One patient was incredibly upset for incorrectly informing him what time/location of his appointment (I related). If you can go elsewhere, please do. It's a shame - both doctors are great. This business and front office make it not worth the trouble.
Dr Rojas is a wonderful doctor who listens, guides patient and cares about my needs. I feel fortunate to have worked with her directly on my eye surgery for cataracts. Thanks Dr. Rojas!
