Dr. Hellman performed surgery > 1 1/2 years ago. Surgery was rescheduled 5x. He repaired the muscle behind the eye lids of both eyes. He took too much skin in stitches @ the outside of my eyes and now I have lumps @ the outside corners of my eyes. My follow-up appointment was rescheduled twice and when I came in 15 minutes early as is my habit, I heard them call for Dr. Hellmans patients 3 times. Then a patient went up to the desk & he spoke of an appointment that was an hour before mine ( I had already been waiting for > an hour). I went up to the desk @ that time and they just canceled our appointments and did not reschedule us. Dr.Hellman is supposed to be this great eye surgeon but I am very disappointed! After 18 months my surgery site at the crease of the eyelid is wrinkled, dry, & irritated. (I had surgery with a local plastic surgeon @ the same site 20 years before to remove roof fat above my eye, & prior to Dr. Hellman, it had healed immediately and you could not detect any signs of surgery in the eyelid) In addition, I required a brow lift to relieve stress on the muscle behind my eyelids. It was going to cost me 9k because Dr. Hellman said he would not accept what insurance would pay for the procedure so I would have to pay for the entire procedure out of pocket. Of course I was provided with information on financing the surgery. Dr. Hellman is overly concerned with getting paid what he thinks he is worth and NOT WITH PROVIDING HIS PATIENTS WITH THE CARE THEY REQUIRE!!! I can't afford to pay 9k for a much needed procedure! And remember he screwed up my eyelids and the outside corners of my eyes. I am in worse condition than before he performed surgery.
