San Luis Obispo Eye Associates

This review mostly reflects our experience with the front office staff in the past two years. The doctors and their assistants, I wish I could rate separately, because I would give them 4-5 stars. In the past when we have gone here, the front desk and optical department was friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what has changed, but here are some of the problems we have had. > Front desk seems frazzled and actively irritated by having to interact with patients on the phone or in person. > Front desk has given us inaccurate information about our appointments, so ask to speak directly to the doctor. This will get you a physician's assistant. > They are overfilling their schedule. The waiting room is always full with at least a dozen people, and a simple eye checkup will take a minimum of two hours. > Optical department seems to have a brand new and inexperienced employee working alone every time we go. They have forgotten to put our order through, and made other basic mistakes.

I have been to San Luis Obispo Eye Associates four times, with three appointments. Overall, this has been an excellent experience. On my most recent visit, I waited only a few minutes for my appointment, and my doctor was proactive and helpful, a great, 5-star experience. The front office staff have always been professional, friendly and helpful. The level of care I have experienced by the doctors here is exceptional. I need to note that one of my visits was disappointing. Despite checking in on time, I ended up waiting for 50 minutes and ultimately had to cancel my appointment and leave. However, I received a personal note subsequently from the office administrator about the mix-up, and the next visit was very efficient. Sometimes the wait for your appointment can be long. Hopefully, SLO Eye Associates will continue to optimize this process or build in some slack so that every appointment can provide both exceptional medical care and a timely experience.

I had my first visit at this office today. Amazing associates, didnt wait long to be called. very pleased with the amazIng peds dr. cant wait for next years appt!

Your office efficiency has declined with no hope in sight of upping your patients service. . You have too many people coming in at the same time and sitting past their appointment time wondering what's going on with no explanation on why unless we ask. It is so rude having patients sitting around waiting to be called past their appointment time. It is not only disrespectful to those who are paying your bills, but mainly just plain rude. Yesterday I asked them to cancel my wife's appointment. It was just about a half hour after her appointment. Personally I think you people are over booking patients creating your own trouble. If you can not see patients within 15 minutes past their appointment time how about telling us what the problem is and give us a chance to reschedule or deside if y'all are worth waiting for. Can you handle that suggestion? We all have feelings! It's so wrong to expect people sit around just waiting for you to decide to call us.

What ever appointment time they give just plan at least for 2 hours because your appointment time is not what theirs is.

This was my annual appointment and it is one year after my cataract surgery. As usual, everyone was helpful and polite. My checkup was positive and I'm very happy about that. Last year I deducted one star because of the usual 30 minute wait in the waiting room. This year the wait was less than 10 minutes - I really appreciated that. I really appreciate the care I get here from the staff and, of course, my doctor. Great job. Oh, I should mention, the surgery was very successful and I can see better than ever - no glasses for distance and readers for close up.

Horrible! Run in and out like cattle. The woman at the front desk bad attitude make you like they are doing you a favor. Went in to upgrade my prescription and they gave eye exam instead without the prescription. I found 2 weeks later when I went pick up my glass with optometrist it was a front desk debacle! I am glad it was just glasses it could have been a different eye procedure because of disinformation from the front by not keeping the EYE on the ball.

I recently had cataracts removed. The office staff here are attentive and professional. I never waited more than a few minutes for my appointments. Dr. Basich is excellent. He explained the process to me very well, was confident I would be pleased with the results, and I couldn't be happier with my vision.
