I have been a patient of Dr. Hider's for the last 10 years. He's very knowledgeable, a very good communicator, and an all-around good person. His supporting staff are also wonderful to work with. The last time I was there to pick up my new glasses, the optician would not let me leave (in a good way, of course) until I was fully satisfied with the vision correction and fitting.

I've been seeing Dr. Hider for nearly 15 years. I've always found their staff to be friendly and professional. Through regular monitoring of my eye pressure, Dr. Hider detected that it was getting high, and rose to above normal levels, which means Glaucoma. Fortunately, because he caught it so early, I was able to get on Rx drops to reduce the pressure and no damage has been detected in my nerves. I go in about 2-3 times a year for monitoring which has proved to be excellent preventive maintenance and care of my eyes.

Had a great experience with Dr Wenjun Huang! She's a great Dr - quick, throughout, makes you feel very comfortable. Front lady receptionist was a bit pushy trying to upsell with services not covered by insurance. They have decent variety of frames to choose from, but they are very pricey. Sadly, even with insurance coverage I had to say no and look for glasses elsewhere

I used to be a big fan of Primary Eyecare. I got excellent glasses and service from them. They had an excellent optician who is no longer there. The last time I went there was a nightmare. I will say that Dr. Hider was very good and tried to make it right. It was a particular optician's attitude and lack of expertise that made it an exasperating experience. They couldn't get my prescription sunglasses right. They tried three pairs; the first was painful to wear and the tint was way too light. The second would fall right off my head if I nodded. The third pair's lenses were off so my vision through one eye was always a little out of focus. And I paid over $700. Laura's attitude seemed to be that my complaints were frivolous. She clearly didn't want to deal with me once we started having difficulties with the glasses. She didn't care! Such a shame for someone with a rotten attitude to drag down a business. I finally contacted Dr. Hider and he sent me a refund.

The best local eye care group by far! Primary Eyecare has helped me navigate an extremely difficult confluence of vision problems since I was a child. (Thank you Dr Cheung!) More recently, Dr Ou and Dr Tackett have been nothing but kind and patient while dialing in a new long term prescription for me while other local doctors were unwilling to put in the time needed to deal with my complicated eyes. Without a doubt the finest eye care in the community.

I have VA coverage and must pay for my own eye care. I wear contacts and glasses and I've always had a great experience with them.

Best eyecare out there. Felt very confident that I was getting great quality treatment and care. I moved out of slo and am very upset that I wont be able to get treated by primary eye care anymore.. HIGHLY recommend

I like the way they treated me. Everyone there was welcoming. I have never had a checkup like this before.I am definitely coming back. :)
