I received my Contoura-Lasik procedure with Dr. Winthrop in November and am enjoying the results every day (although I still reach for where my glasses used to be thinking I'll need them!) The entire team was helpful and kind throughout the procedure. Their routine for the day of was professional and impressively run. I cannot recommend Dr. Winthrop and his office enough! I traveled about 4 hours to meet with Dr. Winthrop for a LASIK consultation. I felt heard and validated regarding my nerves when considering if LASIK was right for me. Dr. Winthrop, Christian, and the rest of the team put me at ease. They were able to answer all my questions and make sure I was well informed about all aspects of the process. Extra gratitude to Claudia and Peggy for easily coordinating my visits given that I was not local.

I got my glasses in 2nd grade and waited decades to get Lasik for all the usual reasons-laziness, cost, and fear of the surgery. The surgery happened very quickly-20 minutes prep, 15 minutes of surgery, and 20 minutes of postop. The 5 stars is because they have the process down to an assembly line (in a good way), and started from a human centered design aspect. By that, I mean that Dr Winthrop told me right before each action what was going to happen and how my body was going to react, and the nurse had her hand on my arm as a centering action. I can see now without glasses, and still think they did an excellent and efficient job!
