I love Goleta Valley Optical! I've been going to them for years and I've always had a great experience. Most recently I met with Nick and he was extremely helpful and informative. Staff was nice, but I paid close to $1000 for a pair of glasses only to find that the lenses were chipped around the edges. Whoever installed them clearly did not know what they were doing. Mistakes happen, but they should have re-ordered the lenses. Instead, whoever was responsible passed them off to me, the customer, hoping I wouldn't notice.
The glasses seemed to function fine, so I didn't think it would be worth making an issue of.
Well, the issue was far worse than it seemed, which became clear today when the lenses popped out. What I thought were just small chips are actually cracks that run most of the way around the edge of the lenses. Nearly all of the polycarbonate which is supposed to secure the lenses to the frames is broken.
Shame on this store for selling me broken glasses. Shame on me for accepting them.
