Love supporting local small business in Santa Barbara. I found Urban Optics using AI search for a top star location for my entire family to get their eye care needs met. From the moment you walk in you are immediately greated whether you have a question or appointment everyone is extremely helpful. Dr Raynard provides a comforting space and full explanation to any questions you made have. My son enjoyed his visit and said we are definitely coming back next year. Lianna was very sweet and helpful answered all of my questions to the best of her abilities. Loved her fun energetic energy. Anastasia was amazing at helping me pick out lenses that would help me focus and not strain my eyes. I absolutely loved working with her. It was like talking to a friend. I'm excited for when I can pick up my Neurolenses with Avulux clip on lenses. It was 100% would recommend Urban Optics for you and your families eye care health and needs.

6/5 stars - I have never been able to get 2020 vision over the last few years, even with both hard and soft contact lenses and including regular glasses. I had had Lasik in about 2000, which literally worked miracles when I had it 25 years ago, but apparently over the years my eyeball has taken on a shape that had minor irregularities and was no longer a perfect spherical surface.
Dr. Zucker fitted me for what are known as "Scleral" lenses. These were actually the very first type of contact lenses developed, going back to the late 1940s and early 1950s, although of course mine are of a modern generation. The net result is that I feel like I have the Vera Rubin Space Telescope in each eye! I have occasionally tested 20/10, and am consistently 20/15... not bad, considering that the physics limit for the human eye is 20/08!
Dr. Zucker really went all out for me, and the results are stunning. I feel like parts of my brain's optical cortex that have slept for years are now alive again.
Scleral lenses can be a bit of an "adventure" to insert daily, but the adventure after they're in is the real deal.
