Santa Clara Vision Center

All the staff and Dr's are wonderful at Santa Clara Vision Center. Helpful, kind, and know how to make the patients feel at ease. I have been going to this office for over 25 years and I continue to go back because I get amazing service!

From the front office to the optometrist, this is a very well run office. I had my eye health exam, vision exam, and retinal scan completed. Dr. Megan Tai has a really great demeanor and communicates effectively with explaining what she's doing and Everton was tested for - she's great! The staff helped me choose glasses and I did give a disclaimer of sorts that I needed to be economical- never felt I was over sold. Emma was awesome with all of that!

Excellent place to get your eyes checked and get glasses. I've been coming here for many years and it is by far the best place I've ever been. I get free exams at Kaiser, but choose to pay to get the excellent care from Santa Clara Vision Center. They also do an excellent job at fitting glasses. I tried Kaiser and returned4 pairs of glasses before giving up and coming back here to get it done right. Plenty of parking including on the street out front. Freshly remodeled and clean and well stocked with frames. Highly recommended.

I took a 6 year old in for his first ever eye exam. I cannot tell you how impressed I was . They gave simple instructions making certain he knew what was taking place and what to expect. The entire exam was handled with kindness, patience and understanding of a 6 year old. It was a great experience!

I have been seeing Dr. Portman for many years and never been to anywhere else For my eyes other than the Santa Clara Vision Center. All the people in the front office office are so friendly and warm and welcoming that it is a pleasure to visit. My wife and two daughters have been going there as well for years and we're not going anywhere else ever. Keep up the good work And thank you for your services:)

Great service. Had some trouble with insurance which was a little stressful, but ultimately figured it out once I gave them more info. It was a little hectic after the holidays, but everyone was still in good spirits! Grateful they were open.

Santa Clara Vision Center is a reliable and well run vision center. The staff is warm and friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. My family has been going there since the early 1990's and we have been satisfied with the care we receive.

I went to this place in July for my annual eye exam using insurance, planning to get both glasses and contact lens prescriptions. During my first visit, the front desk staff was very rude and arrogant. They charged me nearly $200, which I later found out was an overcharge after checking my insurance. Only after I called them did they admit the mistake and refund me. After the first exam, the doctor told me they could only give me a glasses prescription, and that I would need a second follow-up appointment for contact lenses -- which they said would be free. I missed that second appointment, and when I tried to reschedule recently, the front desk told me I'd have to pay $105 because it's been more than three months. I was never informed of this "three-month policy" when I first made the appointment, and even the staff admitted they hadn't told me -- but said "that's the rule." Now my insurance benefit for the year has already been used, so if I want to see another optometrist, I'll have to pay out of pocket. This whole experience was frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend Santa Clara Vision Center to anyone -- especially if you plan to use insurance. Make sure to double-check all their charges and policies before you go
