Valley Fair Mall Eyexam of CA

Scheduled an eye exam appointment there because they were in network with no copay, supposedly. Had to fill out so much inappropriate info online that I was about to give up already just for that reason alone, but I pushed through. The appointment was confirmed with Ritu Ahuja office, with no mention of the other actual Dr. that I had selected, but OK, fine. Drove there and get told copay was $39, and when I then mentioned that it was supposed to be covered according to VSP the kid at the reception said yes, it might say so, but they do these extra services and it was the office's policy to no do it without these. So I canceled out of principle and showed my frustration about them wasting my time, but the kid clearly was proud of the situation, definitely did not show regret or apologized for time wasted and I am sure they will not update their web presence and disclose this BS that they are doing. Pretty sure this is against their agreement with the insurance network as well.

Everything was pretty smooth except the first phase of eye exam took a bit longer than my past experiences at Dr Cindy Yu's place(she is retired now). Also the machine showing big red rings was a bit scary and uncomfortable. Otherwise, the crew were super kind and helpful.

I went in for eye exam today. The doctor was great and very formative, but I especially wanted to give a shout out to Miss Emma who I previously had a different experience with at the Oak Ridge store today I got to see the real Emma and I really enjoyed conversation with her. She had a wonderful disposition, very intelligent And kind and I am very grateful that I got to see a whole other side of her that I had misjudged in the past. Will blame that on pregnancy hormones and chemotherapy medication! Lol seriously though she has a lot of excellent qualities that I just didn't See Before and for this, I am sorry. Thank you for being so wonderful today. Emma keep up the great work and I wish you the best in your career.

Emma was very friendly and professional, which was much appreciated. Dr. Yang was quick and concise in letting me know the condtion of my eyes and vision. Overall, a swift, pleasant visit to say the least. Thanks to the team there!

The staff members were exceptionally friendly, providing thorough explanations of the exam process and offering valuable assistance throughout. The eye examination proceeded seamlessly, with clear explanations regarding my ocular condition and recommendations for the most effective approach to managing it. Moreover, they were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process of acquiring new contact lenses, offering detailed instructions on how to properly insert and remove them.

I love the front desk admins and the doctor! So friendly and helpful from the moment i arrived until the very end. They worked so efficiently on a busy day! And my doctor gave me options for my contact lenses and tips to keep my eyes moisturized in this cold weather! Thank you lens crafters valley fair team!

Today I had an appointment at Dr. Anita Gor's office to update my prescription for eyeglasses, and I left deeply dissatisfied and disheartened by the experience. What started as a routine appointment turned into an upsetting encounter with unprofessional and unethical behavior. When I arrived, the assistant informed me that my insurance covered the eye exam for updating my prescription. They also offered an optional retina imaging service, which they said came with an extra cost. I declined the service, but the assistant then said they would waive the fee for me "this time" and encouraged me to proceed. Trusting their assurance, I agreed to the imaging. After the imaging and the eye exam, I met with Dr. Anita Gor. While she provided me with my updated prescription, she mentioned findings from the retina images. She stated that there were signs of a serious eye disease and then said that if I wanted to know more, I would need to pay for the imaging service. If I didn't pay, she would not disclose any further details about the findings. I was shocked and devastated by this approach. Offering to waive the cost of imaging initially felt considerate, but it became clear this was a tactic to lure me into agreeing. Using a patient's potential health concerns as leverage to demand payment is deeply unethical and unprofessional. It felt like they were taking advantage of my vulnerability to generate profit. This experience was incredibly upsetting, and I feel it's important to warn others about this practice. I would not recommend Dr. Anita Gor's office to anyone. Patients deserve transparency, respect, and ethical care, none of which I received during this visit.
