Would not recommend for toddlers. Small selection of frames, long wait times, and we were given a prescription and left alone to find frames for our daughter. Turned out to be very expensive even with our insurance and felt pressured to get them (no one offered any assistance for most of the process until check out). Got a second opinion and was told the prescription was so small and didn't necessitate wearing glasses at this point- so spent a lot of money for nothing.
Everyone is amazing here, I really can't believe it. Dr. Aivazian is empathetic, knowledgeable, and thorough. She really wanted to make sure my new daily contact lenses were fitting properly and comfortably. Hannah ensured my eyeglasses fit properly, and she even offered to improve the fit of my current glasses. I also ordered contact lenses through them and had an event before my lenses would arrive. So Zeida very kindly gave me a couple of free sample kits so I'd be covered until my order came.
Only got frames here, but not a good experience. I'm not returning. I think it was a combination of the staff and the Davis vision lab. I came here because they have frames that are free with my insurance, but the add-on costs were so high, they just about matched going anywhere else. I'm not an expert, but the staff doesn't seem up-to-date with measuring for progressives, she just looked at my vision, told me to hold still and used a pen marker on the lens to note the progressive line.
The progressives were terrible - I could only clearly see a square inch of writing on a paper.
I returned to have them re-done with only distance lenses. I explained that my progressives were not working right and I could only see a little square inch on a page, but he kept telling me I just had to get used to it. I told him I had spent weeks trying to get used to it to no results and wanted them re-done with distance only (and it was free for a re-do) but he stubbornly refused. The guy finally relented when my husband spoke up and said that's not normal for progressives, he can read fine with his. Yep ladies, that's all it took - my husband saying the same thing and the guy immediately flipped and was happy with re-doing the lenses. They will never get my business again after that experience.
I got the distance lenses, and something still seemed off. A year later I thankfully decided to just get my frames at my regular Dr. office (Valencia Eyecare Optometry) and they worked wonderfully and cost about the same.
I had a very negative experience with this eye doctor Aivazian . During my visit, I was told that my eye pressure was borderline, but instead of providing calm, clear guidance, the doctor scared me by saying I was at risk of going blind and was developing glaucoma. This caused me extreme stress and anxiety.
When I asked what steps I should take if it was so serious, the doctor confusingly told me to come back in two months. When I questioned the logic behind waiting so long, they suddenly changed it to two weeks. I returned after two weeks, only to have the exact same tests done again. This time, I was told I needed to see a specialist in Encino -- a different city -- and was told there were no qualified eye specialists in Valencia, which I later found out was false.
Frustrated, I sent all my test results to a reputable eye surgeon and specialist. To my relief, they confirmed that I did not have glaucoma and that my eyes were perfectly healthy. They explained that the borderline pressure could be related to my corneal thickness, which is not uncommon.
This experience was unnecessarily stressful, confusing, and felt disorganized. Instead of proper guidance, I was met with fear tactics and contradictory advice. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone seeking clear, professional, and compassionate care.
Clean and professional atmosphere. Nice people. Would have been nice if they would have sterilized the various chin rests and things like other places do. Wait was long as well.
Dr. Aivazian is very passionate about her work and has really taken the time to hear me out and troubleshoot problems. She's currently fitting me for scleral lenses and she and the staff have been patient, friendly, and helpful every step of the way. If you're looking for a great eye doctor in the area, look no further!
I was treated with respect and all issues were explained in a way I could understand.
Great first experience with Dr.Aivazian she took her time to get family/my history and took her time to get a perfect fit for my contact lenses. Also went a step further to assess my dry eyes and gave some recommendations that didn't involve medication for that.
