Visualeyes Optometry

I was a patient of Dr Dodge years ago when I lived in Sherman Oaks and had a good experience. After some frustrations with a local optometrist in Westwood Eye I decided to try him again. The exam was almost twice what I was used to paying, and higher than what I was initially quoted when I made the appointment. On the plus side it felt thorough and as I remembered, Dr Dodge seemed quick to identify intelligent solutions, next steps and options. I've had challenges for years with a strong astigmatism with my contacts, and he seemed to have good ideas to find the right solution. I was given two sets of trials and he told me to call back to tell them how those worked so they could either order more or get additional trials based on my experience. This is where things went south. A few days later, I called and told the receptionist as clearly as I could how close each of the two contact prescriptions were. I called back numerous times to follow up to make sure something was ordered, and always got the same receptionist, and was told Dr would get back to any questions. By the end of the week, I got a message from him, asking how the contacts were -- meaning I was doing all the follow up and trying to communicate and yet nothing was actually happening and he still didn't know what I'd communicated about the contacts. He left a voicemail asking me to email my impression of the contacts, after I had called it in three times that week. Hmm. I did so and once again didn't hear back for ten days and followed up myself again by email. Dr Dodge emailed me that he was at a convention and had never received my email response because it went to his spam. So now many weeks I had first called to answer this question he was just now getting it. In my email response I asked if he could order the contacts so they went directly to my home to save me a trip and never got a response Two weeks after that email, I'm now following up repeatedly once again to see the status of the contacts, and once again the receptionist has no information yet about when they will be there. So 5 weeks after my exam, I'm still waiting. The office lacks a clean, reliable and efficient communication process, which is essential for handling the needs of patients. As patients, we don't just come to get medical orientation, we're looking to get a solution as quickly as possible to a problem. I should've had additional trials by now. Hoping this pattern changes because I've already gotten my exam at almost $400.

I'm sad to write this review. I've been a patient of Dr. Dodge for several years, and my actual visits with him have always been pleasant. Unfortunately, for the past three years I've had repeated issues ordering contacts and glasses through the office. My most recent contact lens order is what finally prompted me to share my experience. About a month ago I ordered contacts and my card was charged around $300. After hearing nothing, I called to check in and was told the manufacturer "never delivered" my order. Immediately after that call, I received an email receipt from the office dated that same day--making it pretty clear the order hadn't been placed until I followed up. I understand mistakes happen, but this has happened before, and it's become a pattern. The tough part is that I'm now out of contacts while I wait (possibly another month). I also asked if I could get a sample pair to hold me over, and that request was declined, even though the delay was caused by the office not placing the order. As much as I've liked Dr. Dodge personally, the ordering/fulfillment process has been consistently unreliable, so I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

BAD SERVICE BY ANSWERING PHONE CALLS, I called this morning, and this unprofessional lady who answered the phone, asked me about my ID number. I was about to give her the #, I said give me a second and she said "if you don't have it ready call back" and hang off the phone on me. What a jerk! They can't wait a minute at least.? I would not recommend this place to anybody, they're letting clients go for their attitude.

I can't say enough about my experience with Visual eyes and Dr.Younany. They took the time to do a thorough and correct examination. They didn't rush through with a few "better or worse" checks. The prescription she came up with works great, and my glasses came in just when they said they would. I gave five stars because I can't give 6!

I've been going to see Dr. Dodge for 10 years now for glasses and contacts. He always takes his time with me and explains the importance of each procedure. He is kind and caring. His warm personality and attention to detail make him a highly effective doctor. I would recommend him to anyone with vision needs.

Best eye doctor around!! The only to ever get my glasses right every-time! He has a wonderful bedside manner too! Great staff as well. Been very happy with this office for about 10 years now.

This has been my eye doctor for years and I hate having to rate them so low but the compensation services are terrible. I went in to have my glasses adjusted and tightened, I was warned the machine may break them but I wasn't expecting that. Long story short the receptionist came back with my glasses in two pieces. I would've thought she went behind the counter snapped them in half herself and came back. I was left with my broken glasses and no compensation which is ridiculous. Saying you aren't responsible for damages doesn't NOT make you responsible for damages! I should've been given a pair of replacements since it was their fault my glasses broke but they sent me on my way. If you need your glasses fixed DO NOT go to visualeyes. They're great for your eye exam but that's just about it. Cheaper glasses are online and you'll have better luck fixing your own glasses without them carelessly breaking.

Dr. Dodge is very professional and kind. He's a great doctor, uses the latest technology, and provides a wide selection of frames. Staff are great. I travel from Palm Springs to come here and cannot get myself to go to anyone else closer.
