Diablo Valley Optometric Group - Dr. Michael Ottati

I've been seeing Dr. Otatti for some time and have always had a positive experience with him as a physician. Unfortunately, my repeated interactions with his office staff--specifically the office manager, Francine--have been consistently negative. She has been extremely rude, unaccommodating, and dismissive on more than one occasion. Six months ago, I had a contact lens appointment and paid the full fee, which included a follow-up visit. I did not schedule that follow-up at the time. When I later scheduled my annual exam, I asked if I could use the already-paid contact lens follow-up during that visit. On the day of my appointment, I explained that I was happy to pay for the annual exam but wanted to use the contact lens follow-up I had already paid for. She refused, insisted I pay again for a separate contact lens appointment, and even went so far as to call me a "bad customer." This was incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate. This is the second negative interaction I've had with her. I hesitated to write this because I genuinely like Dr. Otatti, but the front desk staff--especially the office manager--sets the tone for the entire practice. As someone who works in healthcare, I find this behavior unacceptable and would never allow a staff member to speak to patients this way. I hope the practice takes this feedback seriously, as the quality of care should extend beyond the physician to the entire patient experience.

Dr. Ottati and his staff are professional and efficient. I feel as if I am receiving the best eye care available and I am provided the opportunity to select advance diagnostics if I so desire. Dr. Ottati takes the time to explain what he is seeing and any changes in my vision and probable causes/opportunities to improve my eye help. I couldn't be happier, nor recommend more highly.

Very impressed with Dr. Ottati I had gone to him for my teen son. He was very personable, attentive and very knowledgeable. My son was happy too. We purchased two sets of new glasses for him. We would highly recommend this office and Doctor!

Dr.Michael Ottati is truly one of the very best! You will not find a better optometrist anywhere. One of the very few out there I trust my eyes with.

First time patient with Dr. Ottati and it couldn't have been better. Unfortunately the older we get the worse our vision becomes, but doctor Ottati took the time to explain what was happening with my vision and addressed my concerns - and thankfully - not too much to be concerned about! Great staff, great Doc, great experience!
