I have been going to ABBA for years. I don't know if I will be back though. They must work on commission based on recent interactions. I had the same woman helping me buy glasses and glasses for my child. Without me knowing, she added the warranty onto my glasses and try to sneak in other "up-sales". Prior to my purchase, I heard her complementing the lady next to her about how much she sold the person she was helping. This felt very car salesman to begin with for something that is a medial device. I didn't catch the warranty added in until I asked for an itemized bill a week later (I never received a receipt...probably on purpose...and had to ask for one). She then did the same thing when I ordered my daughter's glasses and my son noticed since his were way cheaper than hers were going to be. I called her out on this and she didn't say much. I then picked up my glasses (had her again) and there was an honest mix up with two of us that walked in back to back. Before the other sales associate (with my actual glasses) realized this, I told her I paid extra for thinner lenses and they didn't look thin. I asked multiple times if those were the thinner lenses. She just kept reassuring me but never looked. Then, the other sales associate realized the mix up and in fact, the glasses she thought were mine were NOT the thinner lenses and much thicker. But she never even looked at them to double check. I get sales and making money but having multiple off putting interactions make me second guess returning, which is unfortunate because I love the doctors we have. Also, these are medical devices and it should not feel like I'm buying a used car. So it may become seeing those doctors but not ordering glasses. I rarely leave poor reviews but this has just sat with me since I first walked in and started this process.
I had a wonderful experience at ABBA Eye Care during my first visit. The facility was clean, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Everyone had an inviting smile that made me feel welcome. Dr. Garwood was very kind, explained everything thoroughly, and made me feel at ease, confident that I was receiving the best care. It's clear that everyone works in a friendly, happy, and content environment, which truly shows in the way patients are treated. I was so impressed that I immediately scheduled appointments for my family. Keep it up, and thank you for welcoming me to your wonderful facility!
Very friendly, helpful and attentive.. The building/store is very clean and pretty aesthetically. I've returned here already a few times... And today I'll be dropping by -again-to pick out my new eyeglasses and finally be able to see !!! Haha.
Definitely recommend!
Love my glasses, this is the 4th pair I've gotten through them and I'm still happy every time. Every visit is short and painless, and I've never had anything go wrong. It's nice being able to see clearly :-)
I read through some of the 1-star reviews here and they really don't make much sense, nothing anyone complained about is worth a 1-star review.
This is an eyecare business, but some people are reviewing it like it's a restaurant
In 2024 I was told I would never qualify for LASIK due to my astigmatisms. I was also told I would have so much deterioration in my eyes I would be considered legally blind later in life. I was 23 years old. I am now 25 and I have successfully gotten LASIK. I have 20/20 vision. I would like to say these doctors only care about money. Not your vision, nor your wellbeing. Run.
It's amazing that folks who make their money by interacting with interacting with customers literally don't give a single crap about ... customers. NO ONE greeted me yesterday despite being in the office for over 30 minutes. An employee walked RIGHT by me, she looked right at me, and had to side step me to get by. Didn't say a single word. I wrote down the items I was interested in and left. Two pair of progressive lens glasses and sunglasses- easily $1400.... Someone else can have my money.
Not recommended. Contact lens fitting was incorrect as it was not staying on the pupil. Optometrist said there is nothing she can do for the fit, & can only increase the strength, that is absolutely untrue, they are either lazy or unskilled. Have worn contact lenses for years. In the meantime concidered ordering glasses, the lenses are extremely overpriced, the optician did not even have any samples of the different pricey lenses, was told it would be 3 weeks for them to come in, decided to pass. Mean while could overhear another male optician working with a medicaid client, the couple wanted to purchase better lenses for clarity vs what medicaid would cover, the optician kept yelling out questions to another employee "can we upcharge for medicaid etc., " very unprofessional, hope they took there business elsewhere. 1st & last time using Abba.
I have nothing but great things to say about this location and the staff! I have been coming here for a few years, as well as my fiance. While this was the first year, I needed glasses myself, this was my fiances 2nd time getting them from this location. We shopped around their glasses for about an hour after our appt and sat down with a gal who finished our purchase. We got a call 2 weeks later that our glasses were in and it was discovered by the assistant manager through our conversation that both our lenses were ordered incorrectly. He immediately stated that he was going to get them both fixed and went through the whole process again of measuring and all of that. He stated that he was really sorry but had a solution to fix them right away. WOW- you don't get that everywhere, and we were both very appreciative! Since they were my first pair ever, I thought the glaring lights in the lenses was something to get used to- no, it's because the anti-glare wasn't ordered like we were told. I am truly grateful for this recognition and quick fix. I then decided my frames weren't the right fit for me, and without hesitation, I was able to exchange them. I can't thank you ALL enough for helping us, I truly absolutely love my new frames that I picked up yesterday and got 2 compliments from strangers on them already :) I cannot remember the assistant managers name (sorry) but him and the other gentleman who sits next to him Thomas are TOP NOTCH! Thanks again, so much.
