Costco Optical Department

Definitely some affordable frames in here, and the staff is always happy to help. HOWEVER they do not accept Kaiser insurance, and don't do any curved frames. So don't come here for sports glasses or Safety/swim goggles because they don't make those.

I went to Visionworks for my prescription but I didn't like their selection. Costco had a way better selection and they took my insurance! I got two pairs of glasses for less than $300.

Visited Red Rock Eyecare inside of Costco on Barnes after 2 years of letting things go with a prescription that had astigmatism correction that made me feel like I had just smoked 3 blunts all by myself: Unstable, dizzy, nauseous, and gross. I decided to give them another try. Let me tell you--Dr. Lauren Pfendler was amazing--took the time to listen to all of my little quirks about contacts and glasses over the years, and had me leaving out the door feeling set free inside Costco with literally a whole new view of life. I stood in front of their TV section for a good 7 minutes not even knowing what to do with myself. I could even see the look on the person's face in the freezer section with the somewhat offensive t-shirt I was wearing. In the past, I have been told I could only have one type of contacts due to my astigmatism. Dr. Pfendler talked to me about all the options, and I found a pair of dailies that she whipped right out for me to try (without the astigmatism correction per my request), and for 7 hours now--my family is tired of hearing about all the amazing details I can now see and how comfortable they are. It is also nice knowing I can yeet them into the trash when my day has ended and put a fresh pair in the next day, which I never knew was possible. The front office staff was also very professional, and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone I know. There was also no high-pressure sales to purchase overpriced frames, as my husband had an appointment scheduled at the same time. He was like, "These Oakley frames are only $99?" My son was part of an eye study through Children's Eye Center, and the Nike and Oakley cost $300-$400 as they take full advantage of every penny that your eye insurance will cover. Insane. Anyway! We will both be back, and thank you to the front office staff and Dr. Pfendler!

The student that does the eye exams is good. The doctor is outstanding. Please now hire someone more respectful and pleasant that will answer the phones and do the scheduling. The guy you have there now is atrocious. He is disrespectful, rude and quite conceited. He needs to find a different career cause this one is not it!

Genuinely don't understand all the 1 star reviews. I think they are made by angry folks who want everyone to bend over backwards for them while giving them a big smile. No one was rude. The doctor and staff were all helpful while I got my contacts fitted for the first time. I guess if you come here expecting everyone to kiss your feet and tend you like a queen, you will be disappointed.

Dr. Lauren Pfendler OD inside Costco on Barnes Rd. was great. I paid out of pocket after the VA paid for glasses at ABBA Eye Care on N. Circle in Colorado Springs. The glasses they gave me were horrible (20/50) and I went back 3 times and complained. They finally said I was too late to get another exam and I'd have to pay out of pocket now. I went to Costco as recommended. She was great and I can actually see well now. Thanks!

Bait and switch tactics used here. Made an appointment for my kid for contact lenses. After attending the appointment, they never measured for contacts, measured for glasses only, then said we needed to come back for a second appointment to be measured for contacts and pay an additional $150.

Great glasses. Good prices. Great customer service. Knowledgeable and trained staff. I went elsewhere because Costco doesn't take Medicaid. I tried glasses elsewhere and had bleeding sores and glasses that gave me headaches. I returned those and came back to costco. I got better, more comfortable glasses at Costco, with the features I needed. At Costco I got 3 pairs of glasses for nearly 1/3 the price of 2 at the other place. Highly recommend getting glasses here. Will definitely be back in the future.
