I had a great first experience at the Optique on S Broadway. Street parking right out front was easy. Everyone was very professional, yet friendly too. I was impressed by how efficiently they run the practice; I was seen right on time and was done and had a new script in hand about 45 mins later. Good selection of frames and great customer experience getting fitted for new glasses. I would definitely recommend!
I have been going to Optique of Denver for years. Hands down the best glasses selection in metro Denver. Not to mention the ease of getting an appointment and MAKING AN EYE APPT fun when I ultimately feel like I can't tell the difference between 1 and 2 and reassurance of it being okay.
The amount of compliments I receive on my glasses and sunnies always puts a pep in my step. AND it's time I leave a review in addition to my word of mouth-- JUST GO-- come back and thank me later!!! Or just thank your amazing local business in person!
Everyone at Optique Sobo is incredibly friendly. I always have such a fun time when I'm in there. But actually! Thank you for making my annual eye exam an enjoyable experience and for always doing such a great job at explaining everting so well. I also love that you can bring your daily's emptys there- so cool!
Thank you!!
Also they have the coolest glasses
The staff here is absolutely awesome -- friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful! The office is super clean and welcoming, and they have a great selection of frames to choose from. The team really takes the time to help you find styles that suit you best.
Fabian was amazing! He made choosing frames effortless and fun while still being incredibly professional. I left feeling confident with my new glasses and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
I had a lovely experience with everyone here. Salem has the most calming voice! Dr. Knowlton was so friendly, knowledge, and pleasant. Their selection of glasses is really good, with a lot of unique pairs and great brands.
In-network EyeMed patient. I had an issue with billing transparency during a contact lens fitting.
At no point before or during the appointment was I told that the fitting would be classified as a "premium" fit or that there would be an out-of-pocket charge. This was only mentioned at the very end, when I was charged $80. I was told this was done to "save me money" rather than submitting it fully through EyeMed.
When I later contacted EyeMed, they advised that the fitting should be processed through insurance and that billing concerns should be addressed by the provider. I raised this with the office, but they declined to adjust or refund the charge.
I recommend that anyone using vision insurance ask before the appointment whether a contact lens fitting will be considered standard or premium, and confirm all charges in advance to avoid surprises at checkout.
Update after provider response:
The office responded to my review explaining that the fitting was classified as "premium" and that they chose an alternative billing option to reduce my cost. However, the core issue remains that no potential premium charge or out-of-pocket amount was disclosed before or during the appointment, this was only explained at checkout, after the service was already completed.
Additionally, as an in-network EyeMed patient, the fitting was not submitted to insurance at all, and instead I was charged directly. EyeMed later confirmed that contact lens fittings (standard or premium) are intended to be submitted through insurance, with patient responsibility determined by EyeMed.
I'm sharing this so future patients know to ask before their appointment whether a contact lens fitting will be considered premium and whether it will be billed through insurance, to avoid surprises.
Optique is absolutely worth visiting. I have no great love for eye exams...this was my first one in over a decade. It's not that there's some great fear. I just never got around to it (seriously, this is impressive procrastination), because they feel like a waste of time - time completing forms, time waiting in the lobby, time waiting in the exam rooms, time waiting for the doctor. Wow, was I completely wrong!
I was literally in an out in a bit over 30-minutes, and that only because Dr. Knowlton took the time the answer all my ridiculous questions, review my retinal scan in detail, and explain things thoroughly.
If you are only going to an eye exam once a decade, this is the place for you (though I'm probably obligated to acknowledge that you should go annually...I promise, it will be just as good)
I am so grateful I found Optique when I moved to Denver. The staff is very kind and accommodating as well as smart and efficient. The best optical office I have been to. I highly recommend.
