I have been going to Dr Wiarda for a few years, and recently switched my daughter to have her go to him as well. Dr Wiarda is incredible with young kids, very patient, positive, and her experience was wonderful with all the staff there. It's priceless to be able to not only trust your eye doctor with your own eye care, but also for your children's eye care. I am so grateful for Dr Wiarda's thoroughness, honesty, and thoughtful explanation of my daughter's eye care needs. I'm so glad we have an eye doctor we can trust! Thank you so so much!
Dr. Wiarda is truly a knowledgeable and compassionate doctor, which makes him a very well-rounded doctor. I have extensive health problems and am picky about the emotional intelligence of my care team, and I will be continuing care with him because of his compassion.
From a practical standpoint, he really takes the time to help address my vision concerns, never rushing me or dismissing something even if the solution is way simpler than I worry it will need to be.
From a humanistic standpoint, I was basically in the middle of a breakdown when I saw him recently (very little of which was related to my vision), and he handled my emotions with great care even though they had nothing to do with him. This was also only my second appointment with him, so it's not like we have an established doctor-patient connection, and he still treated me above what a medical provider often offers.
This feels overly sentimental and still not expressive enough haha, but for everything I said I highly recommend Dr. Wiarda.
I've been a patient of Dr Wiarda for almost 15 years now and I have to say that he and his staff are absolutely incredible. He is a very caring doctor who thoroughly explains all of your evaluation results and treatment options. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good Optometrist in Northern Colorado.
Good. Dr. took his time to get things right. Dr. explained everything, asked a lot of questions, and gave me many chances to ask him questions. Reception people were friendly as well.
That said, I thought the communication was awful. Originally was told 2 weeks for glasses, then, after me calling them, there was something wrong with the glasses so they said they had to send them back to the lab. Was told another week. When I heard nothing after that week I called and was told it'd be additional week. I had to call them for this information. Never once did they reach out until I stated my frustration with the poor communication. Finally after a month and a day, I got the glasses. They are fine. I definetily will get my prescription glasses from another place in the future.
You know how when you book an appointment for hair care, dental cleaning, EYE DOCTOR, you receive texts, emails, phone calls reminding you about the appt? Generally I ignore these, they are an annoyance and background noise in an already busy day. Turns out here if you don't respond they just cancel you appt and don't tell you. sitting in the waiting room, I was told they'd be nice enough to fit me in but I have to wait until they are free. There's lots of eye doctors in Fort Collins, no need to put up with not great service.
REPLY TO RESPONSE: I'm going to be truthful here and say that when I turn on my phone at the end of the day and get a bunch of texts and phone messages I only glance at the ones that are not from contacts I know. In my mind when I made the appointment that was the contract that was created - I show up and pay, you take care of my eyes. If you want to charge me $50 for a no show appointment, that makes sense, I wasted your time. If you send me a text to remind me that I have an appointment the next day, I appreciate it, even if I only glance at it since I have the appointment on my calendar and have every intention of being there. Canceling when I don't reply after me being rescheduled already I actually consider to be poor service. And I would like to know how I treated the staff and doctors poorly. Was I cheerful - no, I was annoyed I had left work, showed up early in case there was paperwork as I was a new client and was told at the time of my appointment (not when I got there) that it would be another 20 minutes before I was going to be seen. I'm not sure I can be accused of poor behavior in this case.
The staff was very professional and courteous. The optometrist assistant was amazing, friendly and caring.. The doctor answered all my questions and was very patient with me. Thank you all and I'm so glad that I finally found an honest optometrist office to go to for my yearly eye exams.
Dr. Wiarda is a very capable and caring eye doctor. He is knowledgeable and thorough. He clearly explains any medical/optical issues and also explains the options to deal with the situation. He takes the time to ask me if I have questions and listens to my responses. I am completely satisfied with the eye care I receive from Dr. Wiarda and have recommended him to my friends.
Team very professional.
Dr Wiarda was detailed, explained all the findings, explored my input for solutions and very thorough. /
