Fort Collins Family Eye Care

I wanted to start this off, saying the Doctor actually cares. As she assured me, she does. Unfortunately, after meeting with her directly 2/3/26 and her request that I give her 48 hours to identify the issues that have plagued my daughter's glasses orders, she didn't even have the decency to get back to me. We ordered my daughter's frames and glasses on 12/31/25, and were told 2 weeks. When my wife had an appointment on 1/22/26, and hearing nothing, she inquired again. "Oh, next week," we were assured. Finally, on 2/3/26 I went in myself as the woman who is in charge of fittings had told me that the glasses were delayed due to a non-payment over the phone. This is the payment they collect when they fit the glasses, which we still have not received. So, no, that is not what they delay is. She also informed me that they were now on backorder, and there was no restock date available. Upon my arrival she called the distributor and miraculously they were no longer on backorder (43 minutes had elapsed) and they would be sent out immediately. I requested to speak directly to the Doctor because I had already been deliberately misled multiple times and as the owner of the business I assumed she would want to know what was happening. I truly wanted to know why at 5 weeks we had no glasses and hadn't ever been updated by FC Family Eyecare at any time. She ran down a list of protocols they supposedly have and requested the afore mentioned 48 hours to find out where the breakdown in communication had occurred. In the true unprofessional and terrible customer service form they have operated on this entire ordeal; she never once reached out. It is now 2/11/26, a full 6-weeks after our order and we have nothing. No updates, no glasses, no apologies, simply nothing. She may be a good optometrist but unfortunately operationally this company is awful. I understand delays come in many types; what I simply cannot understand or tolerate is terrible customer service and more accurately lack of customer service and compassion entirely. All FC Family Eyecare needed to do was provide updates or any follow up whatsoever and I could have remained understanding. The only thing they have successfully done is make it crystal clear they don't care about their patients and customers one bit. If you enjoy terrible customer service, waiting, and zero follow through, have at it; otherwise go anywhere else. Yes, after demand, they did reimburse the cost of frames and lenses, 22% of total cost. Still not worth dealing with.

My experience with Fort Collins Family Eye Care felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Religion was repeatedly brought up in conversation, which made me uneasy in what should be a neutral medical setting. I go to a healthcare provider for medical care, not personal beliefs, and this crossed a boundary for me. I also witnessed what appeared to be alcoholic mimosas being offered prior to an appointment. Whether this was meant as a joke or part of the office culture, it felt inappropriate in a medical environment and made me uncomfortable. It raised concerns for me about professionalism and judgment in a healthcare setting. Additionally, the doctor's child was running through clinic areas without consistent supervision. The child was present in patient spaces and created distractions, which made the office feel chaotic rather than calm and organized, and raised basic safety and cleanliness concerns for me. Overall, the atmosphere felt disorganized, uncomfortable, and lacking professional boundaries. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this practice.

Initially, I was very happy with this practice. However, over time, some things have become very concerning. Both doctors are very nice and the staff is friendly. Huge plus! Communication, accountability and responsibility, however, has left much to be desired. When a typo was made previously on a prescription (transposing numbers on my axis), I was told my eye had changed over a period of a few weeks rather than admitting a number had been transposed. With the most recent pair of glasses and pricey lenses with special coatings for computer glare, etc. I noticed right away one eye was not right and I was getting severe headaches. After my previous experience, I called right away and requested a re-check. I was advised I needed to meet with the glasses person. Over the course of MANY months, I met with the glasses person several times and they tried new lenses adjusting for different measures. Many times my messages were not returned and I had to reach out more than once to get scheduled. We finally met today and the solution is that even though my last pair of progressive lenses worked, I need another full exam and a separate pair of computer glasses at my cost and with the use of my limited benefits. I'm very frustrated because I initially asked for a re-check and was sent a different direction. I was not offered any kind of reimbursement--just more ways to spend my money.

Dr Collins is wonderful. Highly competent, very thorough in explaining what's going on with my eyes, friendly & caring. The office staff are also caring & very efficient at check out. I've been a patient there for 2 1/2 yeas and highly recommend the doctors and staff at this office.

Moving here from out of state and going to a new place and finding where you feel comfortable is always a challenge, but honestly couldn't have asked for a better eye care family! They are extremely knowledgeable, they have very modern technology, and it feels like I've known them forever. Highly recommend for all ages!

My family and I just moved to the area and when I searched for eye care I ran into a lot of bumps trying to get my family seen. From the moment I called to schedule the appointment I felt welcomed. The staff is phenomenal and so friendly. The went above and beyond with my son, the dr took her time to explain things and answer any questions. We didn't even feel rushed afterwards looking at frames even though it was past their closing time. I cannot say better things about the entire experience and would recommend them to anyone looking for eye care.

It took me a while to write this but I do want to add to the other reviews that have the same concerns. The positives: front desk staff and tech who did the eye exam on my son were amazing, very nice and thorough with the eye exam. This was the only place that caught an eye tracking issue that has actually proved to hold a key to a neurological issue with my son. The prism lenses work well for him, as some doctors won't recommend them at all, somehow they help. We did an eye exam, follow up and prism lenses. The negative: the eye doctor, after the exam, came in and told us for my son to go off all of his medications as those are causing his issues (in spite of not knowing what one of the medications even was) and did not recommend consulting with his doctors first. This is dangerous advice. Then she gave us a flyer for vitamins through her link- very MLM. We weren't told about eye therapy as some patients were, just given dangerous medical advice and these expensive supplements through some (previously investigated by the State of California) company. We got the glasses and then went to the pediatrician and Children's to work up if there was a neurological component to the eye tracking issues. The doctor did provide a full print out of all of the advice I mentioned and I showed it to the Children's Hospital Eye Dept and pediatrician. They both indicated that it was inappropriate advice regarding the medications and supplements and Children's hospital kept a copy of the paperwork for their own records. If the dangerous medical advice about prescription medication stoppage (if there is a concern about a medication that should be addressed by the patient with their physician) and direct links to supplements would be stopped it would be a good facility for their thoroughness. The danger of advising patients to stop medications is too great and I hope that this review will find this practice has ceased, since I believe we were last there in 2024. Patients should NEVER stop medications or purchase supplements without consulting with their medical professionals. And the rules regarding supplements: Ethical Considerations (AMA & Professional Guidelines) Full Financial Disclosure: Physicians must fully inform patients about their financial interest in the sale of supplements, whether in person or through written notification. (did not receive this from the doctor) Scientific Validity: Only offer products with claims of benefit supported by peer-reviewed scientific literature. (this doesn't exist for the company upon investigation) Patient Choice & Alternatives: Inform patients about the availability of the product or equivalent alternatives elsewhere. (only one company was recommended) Avoiding Exploitation: Do not insist patients purchase from the office, especially if they have to travel to do so. Risk/Benefit Communication: Provide clear, understandable information about the risks, benefits, and scientific limitations of the products. (did not receive this either) Again, hopefully those two practices stopped at the office and that more eye doctors will be able to catch these subtle eye tracking disorders.

Dr. Munson is wonderful! She cares very deeply about her patients and has a heavy focus on overall eye health. I highly recommend Fort Collins Family Eye Care.
