North Park Vision Center, PC

My visit to North Park Vision Center was very pleasent. They were very hospitable upon arrival. I arrived a little early; didn't matter - they were ready for me! I got the best eye exam maybe ever by Dr. Nielsen! Very thorough indeed. Front staff were the best! North Park Vision will be my new home for eye care!

Very friendly staff all around, arrived late in the afternoon and nearly stayed until closing trying out frames with the staff's recommendations + helping me find ones that were affordable. The tech is a little old-school but they made up for it. Dr Rose is very sweet and you can tell she cares about the staff & the comfort of everyone in the building. If you're expecting heavy lab coats and thick clinical lighting, I guess look elsewhere. Regarding another review: the dilation is not just for $$ pictures!!! They use it to look at the inside of the eye. It wasn't easy since they shine a light directly on it to see, but they were very patient with me. While they do recommend the pictures, they assured me my eyes were healthy, and I did not have to spend more than my copay for my visit. The "zoom call" is for their transcription and they did ask if I was okay with it. Like I said, the tech is a bit old school.

30+ years of glasses and optometry visits and I've never found such an overachieving and professional team. Especially their student doctors! They found a progressive condition that my primary care, years of military service, and optometry visits of past never even noticed. Possibly saving me my vision. Beyond grateful. Also the view from the office is classic Colorado. Wins all around.

I showed up and there was no one at the check in, this happened to multiple people. When I was able to get seen, 3:10, it took about 15 minutes to 20 minutes to do the initial exam. Then a young doctor came in to do an adjustment on my eyes and dilate them. I was told this would take 15 minutes to settle in. I asked to get my eye glass measurements. After getting an insane quote for glasses and denying them I went back to wait another 15 minutes. When an elderly doctor finally came through the door. She didn't seem concerned about doing anything with a sense of urgency. After another 10 minutes of platitudes, she realizes she forgot her gear in another room. Another 10 minutes went by as she talked in the hallway. She visibly had tremors in her hands. What should have taken 45 minutes tops took an hour and half. I can't blame these folks for an expensive eyeglass before/after insurance. That's out of their control. But their service was great. The doctor...is to be desired.

Vision exam was fine. However I was unable to get the glasses I needed because the glasses department said they didn't sell any glasses within my vision insurance plan. I would have had to pay the difference after the $200 allowance. So now I have to go to Vision works for the glasses that will be fully covered with my $200 allowance. I may need to find an alternate vision doctor because I don't want to have to go to two different places (one for the exam and another for glasses).

After doing vision therapy here I gained stereo vision and depth perception. It is a life altering and in my case permanent experience, the staff are experts in this and very uplifting. My mental health also skyrocketed after therapy. Well worth it!

I recieved a bill from them for services I was told was covered by my insurance. They said the whole appointment was covered so imagine my surprise when I get a text telling me to call and make payment. I explained prior to my appointment that I wanted to be 100% sure everything they were doing was covered and I was told it was. Aside from the billing the doctor that came in to work with me ( Dr Rose) was very rude to her employees and me! I was taken aback multiple times with how many times she snapped at me and got frustrated because I touched my eyes. I also got snapped at after they used dye and I had to blow my nose and was surprised when my tissue was Orange. She acted like I was stupid when I showed concerned before I put 2 and 2 together. It was the dye! She also had a student in there helping here which was annoying as I was needing help with my eye at the moment and they kept switching back and forth with working on my eyes. There was also a younger lady in the room on a zoom call and Dr Rose was particularly mean to her. I was given outdated information on how to care for my dry eyes. I was also never told of anything else I could do to help my eye situation except pay them $2500 for treatment. They pushed it on me for 15 minutes straight. I finally ended up going to a different doctor and was told I had many options before the $2500 treatment and was given a list of instructions to do and supplements/ vitamins I can take to help. Tell me why Dr Rose never mentioned any of this. I would not recommend this practice to anyone.

My experience with north park had been absolutely horrible and I recommend you go elsewhere. I was greeted for my appt with "what do you want" when I walked in. My exam was horribly unorganized with the Dr leaving the room multiple times to retrieve medical devices from other rooms (sterile?), complain of the 3 call outs that day, try and upsell me on a machine (that smelled of cigarettes from the previous patient getting the same upsell speech on dry tear ducts), then sent out to the glasses dept where I received attitude from the employee for requesting my pupil distance, I used their rx to order sunglasses and the rx is wrong. The glasses I bought through them have still not arrived 3 weeks to date, when I called to check delivery I was told another week (left this review and they were available later that day). This has been a horrible experience with sunglasses I know wasted alot of money on with your shotty work. Go somewhere that cares about you, your vision isn't a game.
