I do not recommend Family Eye Care. They continuously change your doctor without informing you, which is both confusing and unprofessional. My concerns about my child's eye condition were not taken seriously, and it feels like they do not prioritize consistent care.
It is especially frustrating and unethical to receive a text message telling you to "confirm your appointment with your new doctor" without even being given a chance to meet or approve the doctor first. Additionally, it seems they are unable to retain doctors in their practice, which only adds to the instability.
Families who value clear communication, continuity of care, and attentive treatment should be cautious.

This reply below is frustrating given that we had already been communicating directly via text prior to my review. Being told to "contact the office" as though there had been no prior conversation reinforces the communication issues I described.
This is not an issue involving just one doctor. Over the past two years, my daughter has been switched to multiple different doctors, and we were not properly informed ahead of time for any of those changes. Receiving an automated confirmation text stating we are scheduled with a "new doctor" is not appropriate notification and does not allow families the opportunity to make informed decisions about their care.
Because this has happened repeatedly, this situation feels like the final straw rather than an isolated mistake. Continuity of care and clear communication should be standard, and that has not been our experience.

I have now canceled my daughter's appointment three separate times, yet I am still receiving calls and text messages about it.
This continued contact after repeated cancellations is inappropriate and reflects the same communication issues I have already raised. At this point, it is extremely concerning and unacceptable.
As a mom, trying to make appointments is hard for me , when I needed to get a new eye doctor my friend recommended this place , I was nervous on my way to my appointment bc I had to bring my one yr old son with me .. and he gets fussy very quickly.. he likes to run away and be independent ( just how any toddler is ) but when I walked in it was so beautiful inside and I was greeted immediately by the receptionist.. I was a new patient and had to fill out paperwork and my son stated to get fussy .. the staff went above and beyond for me .. they got him toys to play with.. they even had One of their staff members come and sit w my son while I had my eye exam.. i never experienced that .. and for them to do that for me really helped me ease my anxiety... I was able to get my eye exam done and have my son be okay and not cause so much ruckus! The staff was amazing and very friendly and understood me when it came to being a mom and having to take your kid to appointment! I definitely recommend this place .. I am forever grateful for the staff here ! Thank you again
I've always had a great experience at Family Eye Care in Bristol. The staff is friendly and helpful, the office is well run, and the care is top-notch. Appointments are smooth and never feel rushed. I recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.
The doctor at Family Eye Care was absolutely amazing, patient, kind, and wonderful with my children. Unfortunately, our experience after the exam completely ruined what could have been a great visit.
The woman who helped us with picking out glasses was extremely rude and unprofessional. She told my daughter that her eyes were "too close together," and every time my daughter or son picked out a pair they liked, she made faces and negative comments. It made both of my kids uncomfortable and embarrassed.
Because of her behavior, I decided I did not want to purchase glasses there and asked for our prescriptions. She became visibly angry and basically threw the papers at us. When I asked for the PD number so I could order glasses elsewhere, she got even more upset and said the front desk would have it which I knew was not true. The front desk then had to send me back to her to get it, and she was even ruder the second time.
It's really disappointing because the doctor was fantastic, but the experience with the optical staff was so bad that I would not return or recommend this office. No one, especially children, should be treated this way.
I'd give 0 stars if I could, I setup this appointment a year in advance and even called a week prior to confirm I'd be coming. Despite this apparently I was supposed to get a text to confirm my appointment as well and because I didn't they canceled my appointment with no notice of such. Upon arrival the receptionist only offered me the option of rescheduling despite having this day off from work so I could make it work. DO NOT come here unless you want your time wasted. Go elsewhere.
Very disappointed with how this office handled our appointment. We had an eye exam scheduled for our son that was booked nearly a year in advance. When we arrived, we were told they no longer accept our insurance. This was extremely frustrating because they previously did accept our insurance, and no one contacted us ahead of time to cancel or notify us of the change.
We left work early and took our son out of school early for this appointment, only to be turned away at the door. That level of inconvenience could have easily been avoided with a simple phone call. This felt unprofessional and showed a lack of respect for patients' time. Insurance changes happen, but communication is the responsibility of the office."
A couple of days ago we picked up new glasses for my daughter. They took care of her. She's able to see and is loving her new look. Thank you everyone who was on staff while we there. The comfort level here is amazing.
While the exam is great, everything about the back end here is horrible. As of Friday at my appointment they would take my insurance and were to call me Monday (had to wait for the one person that could fill my contacts.) After not hearing anything from them I called on Wednesday and as of Tuesday they NO LONGER ACCEPT MY INSURANCE. Communication is not their strong suit here.
