Joseph J. Thimons, OD

Dr Thimons is an exceptionally awesome OD. My girlfriend and I were visiting town for a wedding, she had a detached retina. He dropped everything to be able to see her and gave her care, as if she was a member of his own family. I would highly recommend him to anybody in Connecticut!!!!

Honestly one of the worst eye doctors I have even been to. Had a horrific experience with billing. First they told me I needed a pre-authorization and it was done and I was all set. Then the week of the surgery I was told it was not done and I maybe could not get the surgery. Then It was I did not need pre-authorization at all and only 20$ would be due in office when previously they told me 5000$ would be due. I should have took the hint. Went to Joseph J. Thimons for surgery follow up after cross linking. First eye went fine. Second eye they removed the bandage the day after and then asked me that my surgery was last week, right? after they removed it. The pain was intense. Today at my month follow up we had this conversation: "my vision has been really blurry I'm having trouble seeing without my glasses" "How is your vision with your glasses?' "Fine but" "WELL if your happy with your vision with your glasses your all set if not see your regular doctor for a contact for the left eye people usually do well with that" Before the surgery I could read my PC screen no issues, only issue is distance. Right now I can not read my screen without my glasses. Going to have to go to another doctor that is maybe worth the time.

Dr thimons was thorough, kind, funny, and explained all my questions regarding ms and my eye. Wouldn't go to anyone else.

Dr. Thimons and his entire team are absolutely the best. I went there with a potential serious eye issue, and right from the start, was treated with compassion and caring. They went above and beyond in terms of checking every scenario. Each step of my exam was explained, which set my mind at ease. I highly recommend Dr. Thimons and his office. They are the best.

Our names are Michael Ganino, Patricia Ganino and Christina Ganino & we have been patients for decades. We can no longer use these services due to the horrific treatment that Christina has received over the last 6 months Her treatment has been TERRIBLE with NO follow up and no return calls from the Doctor and the staff has not been helpful

If you enjoy waiting on hold for minutes at a time, calling the office multiple days in a row to have a prescription filled, or being constantly told "we'll leave a message for the doctor", then go ahead with this office. One of the staff members graciously gave me his personal cell to text a request for a prescription after days of my calling the office. I texted him twice, with no reply or even a thumbs up to confirm the medication was called in to the pharm. When I called the office yet again, Dr. Thimons told me bruskly that it was called in & that he sees a lot of patients, so can't reply to the all. Dr. Thimons is a good doctor, but dealing with the office & overall communication. isn't worth the aggravation.

Not only is Dr Thimmons extremely knowledgeable but he is also the most caring and honest person there could be. He also has all the connections with various practices and therefore if you require some specialty that his practice does not do, he connects you with other wonderful Drs as well and follows up. Been extremely pleased with Dr Thimmons expertise and delightful nature.
