Within the past year, I had a severe issue with my right eye detaching from the retina, which required months of seeing a retina specialist. At the same time, I had cataracts worsening in both of my eyes - both requiring cataract surgery. Once the Right eye issue had time to heal, I was now able to focus on the cataracts. I was recommended to see Dr. Romania for the cataract surgery, and I can't express enough how happy I am that I made that choice! Today was my last appointment. I'm finished with both eyes, and can finally move on with almost perfect vision now in both eyes! I am SO impressed with this entire Eye Center! From the office staff, to the medical and surgical crew, and especially Dr. Romania. From my very first visit, to the last appointment today, I can honestly say, they ALL were above and beyond! Thank you Dr. Romania and your team!

*Posting for patient* When I first came to the office the week before Thanksgiving, I expected to be scheduled for cataract procedures months away with several weeks between each one. I was happily surprised at how quickly everything was scheduled and done. Everyone was kind, efficient, and answered all my questions patiently. I never had any discomfort with the procedure. I waited a few years before having this procedure, and 'm very happy I'd did. It was a very pleasant experience, both Dr. And his assistants were welcoming. I recommend Dr. Romania eyecare center to all who need this surgery! From 1-10 it was a 10.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes and could not be happier! Dr. Romania personally spent as much time as I needed to explain the process but more importantly the options available to me regarding the different focal points. I opted to have one set for computer distance and one for farther away. I am able to read books, cell phone etc... and see far enough to read street signs while driving - both without glasses. I was referred to Dr Romania by a few people and I highly recommend Dr Romania myself.

I Can't say enough praises. He saved my eye. After having a complicated Cataract surgery that went horribly wrong from another Doctor, he was able to help me. I sought him out after being told that my Cataract surgery would be difficult and risky to fix. He was open and honest and told me that although it is a complicated fix he was confident he could fix it for me. He clearly explained the risks. After going through with the surgery I can see with almost perfect vision. I will definitely go back to him to have my other eye done. I cant rave enough on how happy I am with the outcome. I went from being told at one office to just adjust and deal with it to being able to see!!! Not only is a great Doctor but he has a wonderful bedside manner and his staff is extremely welcoming.

Easy to find near the Groton Post Office. Clean efficient office and easy to get around. My cataract surgery was clearly explained, also what kind of lenses I could choose from. I choose to adjust both my nearsightedness and astigmatism. The surgeries was performed at L&M Pequot, Same Day Surgery Unit. Dr Romania waited for me and explained again the procedure and what to expect. The Anaesthesiologist explains his plan for me depending on weight, age and my medications. The nurses gave me an excellent care and helped me to prepare. The surgery was quick without any difficulties. Dr Romanias hand felt secure and skilled. The following day I had a post-op meeting at the office. After that I could drive and the only thing is to be careful not to increase the pressure in the eyes. The pressure increases when I bend forward and move up and down quickly. I feel so lucky that it was dr Romania who helped me through all this.

I've worn glasses or contacts since about 3rd grade and now as a Senior Citizen I also need reading glasses. Dr Romania removed my cataracts and inserted a lense in each eye and now I see 20/20. I don't even need reading glasses. Today I threaded a small needle with thread. I've never seen this good.
