Dr. Seth Meskin - Please read. My first experience at Eye Physicians & Surgeons PC - walked in to a very nice office. The lady at the front desk greeted me by saying my insurance is not active. After realizing her mistake she said I needed to pay a $40 co-pay, which I did not have to pay. She said if I did not pay it now they would add a fee to the $40 when they bill me. The office manager was not much better, asking me to sign a form that a service that was covered, I still needed to sign that I would be responsible for it. Did nt make any sense at all - then she said I was good. Wow, I almost walked out due to their rudeness and miss reputation However, Erica made up for the unprofessional treatment the front desk showed me. And Dr Hardik Patel was kind and thorough durning his exam and treatment. I am sure that management has no idea how unprofessional the front desk staff is. Maybe they should send in a "Ghost" patient so they can see for themselves.
It was my first visit with both Nanci and Dr. Roginiel and they were absolutely fabulous. I've been a patient at eye physician and surgeons for 20+ years and this is the first time that the purpose and rationale of screening exams were explained. They were so very knowledgeable and their confidence made me and my daughter feel so at ease!!!
We were accommodated very well by the staff who handled registration, as well as the practitioner who did the initial assessment of my son's eyes. The doctor was thorough, patient, and made my son feel comfortable, which I truly appreciate.
However, I cannot say the same about our experience with the optical shop.
I am generally patient and understanding of people working in the service industry. I even tried to rationalize the interaction -- perhaps the personnel was overworked or having a difficult day. But it is still important to receive feedback, especially when customers are made to feel as though it is wrong to ask questions.
During my phone call with the optical shop, the representative who assisted me sounded noticeably inconvenienced by my questions. When I expressed that I felt threatened by the tone and manner in which she was speaking, she berated me by repeatedly saying she was offended by what I had said. To be clear, a person can feel intimidated not only by what is said, but by how it is said. Tone, delivery, and attitude matter.
At one point, I even asked whether I should call at another time because it truly felt that my inquiry was unwelcome. This has happened to me, and it can easily happen to other customers.
I always tell my son to give people some slack when they sound rude or offensive -- that perhaps they are tired or going through something. I remember him telling me once that maybe people should consider leaving a job if they don't like it. He has a point, even though life is more complicated than that. Still, perhaps staff can be reminded to offer respect to the person on the other line, even if they assume the caller "should already know" what they are asking about. People have different areas of expertise. If you know a lot about something, take pride in sharing that knowledge with others instead of making them feel bad for not knowing.
I am surprised to now read the comments here and see a trend. Our experience with the medical team and registration was genuinely pleasant -- but unfortunately, the treatment I received from the personnel in the optical shop was not.
Please don't go there, both medical care and service are more of a commercial setup One of the worst medical groups, care about money more than the patients. Have to repeat my eye exam twice to get it corrected. The billing department will give you one choice either pay or stop your care even if the mistake is on their side.
Never again and was a mistake in the first place
Watch out for hidden charges & double billing. Astronomically high prices charged, even for a follow up visit. Poor customer service with the billing department. Buyer beware
They double and triple book time slots. Oh your appointment is at 1pm? Expect them to dilate your eyes by 2pm. God forbid you cancel, you're taking a 5 month wait to re-schedule even with all their locations. Don't bother asking about being added to a cancellation list. I was told "We don't do that here, maybe you should try going to a new eye dr" don't worry I did!
Dr. Bacal is such an expert and has helped our daughter tremendously with uveitis caused by juvenile arthritis. He truly cares for her and has seen us many a time outside of regular schedules just ensure that she is okay.
He's fantastic to work with, and so is the rest of his staff.
I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Bacal and his practice.
Great experience, Dr. Patel did a thorough check up. Rest of the staff was very helpful.
