A ripoff. After a bad experience with billing a few years ago, I wasn't going to go back, but I gave them a second chance. My insurance has one free eye exam per year, and I made the appointment specifically saying that was what I wanted, giving them all the insurance info when I made the appointment. I repeated that when I came in for the exam. After I left, they mailed a bill for $45 -- the specialist copay. I was irked, but paid. Now, several weeks later, I find they are billing again, and for more. They lied, and then lied again. Do not believe them when they say what they will charge for your exam.
It all depends which Dr. you get.
I'm crazy about Dr Marconi, but she wasn't available when I needed to be fitted for prismatic lenses to correct my double vision, so I got an appointment Dr Stanley in the New Milford office, since my eyes were driving me crazy and I could hardly see.
The lenses finally came, but driving home, I noticed that, although I no longer saw two images side by side, and vision was clearer prescription wise,. I saw two images of the same thing on top of each other and I was still having trouble reading road signs. At first I thought I just had to get used to the new lenses, but when it just got worse, I called for another appointment and got Dr Marconi this time.
She determined that my vision on the vertical axis had not been addressed at all, even though it was on my chart that it needed to be and said it looked like Stanley had not read the whole chart.
I have to say that Dr Stanley did not seem remotely interested in what was going on during my appointment. No small talk at all, no effort to connect with me as a person. I help train people in customer service and communications so I really notice these things. His disinterest was clearly reflected in missing a key element of my chart.
Dr Marconi corrected the problem and they are remaking my lenses.( It took me forever to type this, because I can't see correctly up close, either.) I'm counting the minutes!
Accolades and more accolades. Finally able to purchase my eye glasses from a reputable facility. First time since Opticare was sold that my glasses with a progressive lens prescription are made and fit properly.
I chose my glasses from their Danbury store, but was able to pick my glasses up in their New Milford store.

I went there for an eye exam, without purchasing glasses there. I thought I'd use this place because they said they take my insurance. I figured I might save a couple of bucks off of the $120 I would have had to pay to LensCrafters. This place charged my insurance $317!!! Wth?! They also want me to pay a $55 'refraction' fee, that I asked them about it when I saw the sign. (Of course they said my insurance would cover it). Their license should be revoked.
This is the third time I have waited over an hour with my daughter past her actual appointment time. They are not apologetic for the wait time at all and have such poor customer service. I will not be returning.
The secretary's are very nice. The doctors are great here! Would recommend 100%
