Hartford Hospital Eye Surgery Center

My wife and I just completed, within the last six months, removal of our cataracts in 4 eyes, with installation of lenses. All four operations were done by Dr Hwang, an amazingly capable, educated, and experienced eye surgeon. The actual operations were completed in about 10 minutes each, with most of the other time in preparation. The operations were completely painless and stress free. The administration, the scheduling, the nursing, and all medical personnel were extremely friendly, professional, understanding and willing to answer all questions. The waiting room was never jammed, always clean and comfortable. Parking is plentiful and the building is handicap accessible on the first floor. The personnel are always available for assistance.

Reception is usually quick, always attentive, professional and accurate. Waiting area is large bright and comfortable. Staff is excellent professional and personable. Very up to date, organized. Have absolute confidence in the care at this hospital.

I was extremely happy with the safety protocols and protections in place now. I felt that I was a priority and important during both of my surgeries. I had been postponed for months but it was worth the wait. Great staff! Everyone did a great job. Thank you for my new eyes!

On March 4th 2020 I went in for eye surgery for cataracts. I want to first comment on how pleasant the receptionist was and how well she treated me. Also, the discharge nurse was kind and professional and explained everything to me. The rest off the staff are unprofessional and I am unimpressed with my experience overall. My appointment was scheduled for 12:30. While I understand that delays happen, by the time I was finally seen it was 3:00. During the two and a half hours while I waited, the staff could be heard laughing, joking, and behaving in a highly unprofessional manner. I have never experienced such a lack of care while undergoing any type of medical procedure. It is my hope that no one else ever experiences anything similar at this office. I hope that staff read this and reflect on their behavior and be more mindful of the needs of patients in their care. Thank you.

Very impressed with the staff. Very caring. Will not hesitate to have my second surgery there.
