I recently went to this place two times as a new patient, having moved to the area back in 2018 and needing an Eye Care place closer to home. First time was stellar... front desk receptionist was nice and helpful, the tech was nice, and so was the doctor. She was more thorough than any doctor I've ever been to, took her time to not only explain things, but show me the results on the computer screen, rushed me in to see a retina specialist the same day, then scheduled to return to their Newark location to get a test done on my optic nerve, with the follow up right afterward in their Bear location where the doctor was working that day. The problem arises during that next appointment... I went to the Newark location for the test because they don't have the equipment at the Bear location to do it. The staff there was nice, the test was quick, and it was a good experience. I rush right over afterward to the Bear location to do the follow up. The emails I received prior to this days appointments had the test in the Newark office at 8:55am, and the follow up at the Bear location at 9:15am, which I thought was odd considering how close that time frame was, I didn't think it would give a person the time to drive between one to the other in time for the second appointment, and I was right. Maybe if it was a straight clear shot, with no traffic or lights, could a person rush there in that time frame, but with traffic and lights thrown in, there's no way possible to make it that fast. Maybe a 30 minute window would be best for future arrangements like this? Even with the fastest route on Google maps, I got there after 20 minutes. I got a call on my cell phone right as I was pulling into the parking lot off of Pulaski Highway, but couldn't answer as I was driving. The front desk reception was a bit cold when I walked in. I said hello with no response as I walked up and saw the receptionist look up at me. Then she looked away at her computer while I stood there a minute, then asked if I had an appointment without a greeting. I told her I did and my name, and she told me to sit and wait, someone would be with me. She made me feel like a bother to her. I found out only after I got home afterward and checked who the call was from on my cell that it was their front desk, and they left a message asking if I wanted to reschedule the follow up since I hadn't shown up yet, while I was getting there. I wonder if that is why the cold reception this time around? It's not my fault their scheduling left me very little time to rush between one location to the other, I did the best I could leaving immediately from the Newark office to get to their Bear location, and I very well couldn't answer the phone while driving. Maybe give patients a little more time to work with and this won't happen? The tech and doctor were both as nice as the first time, and the doctor was very friendly and comforting in discussing my condition and allowing me to ask questions, and her answers and her delivery of them helped put me at ease. She has excellent bedside manner, which I appreciate. I highly recommend her. Just wish the front desk staff were friendlier and more welcoming, and would schedule times in a more realistically reasonable timeframe. So, even though the Bear location is closer to home, I may stick with the Newark office from here on out even if it's a little extra drive, since all the testing equipment seems to be there, and the staff there may be friendlier all around. Unless that changes, and I have to consider looking elsewhere?

I wish I could give this place zero stars. I've never seen such consistent rudeness from one office. The people at the front desk are rude. I waited 90 minutes after showing up early to my appointment to even see the dr. Then when ordering my contacts the woman insisted I was making up my insurance company saying it doesn't exist (blue cross out of WA state) and being extremely rude. When I brought in my husband to help explain she was suddenly all sweet and kind to him but still refused to call the number on our card. After leaving being told our insurance isn't real I called on the phone and had another hour long (rude) debate about our insurance and FINALLY they agreed to call the number on the card. She called me back and said yes she could order my contacts. Great! No. I then received a personal bill in the mail saying that I had no insurance and that I needed to pay out of pocket for them. I then had to have ANOTHER hour long debate with yet another very rude employee about the insurance to finally get them paid for. In the end yes the insurance went through but I will never be setting foot in this office again. Don't treat your patients like they don't know anything about insurance and stop being ageist acting like I don't know anything because I'm in my 20's. Rude.

I'm an easy patient to please...this eye care center did my annual check ups fine and although I had no complaints and the staff isn't "bad", there's nothing notably good about it either. No smiles or pleasantries exchanged at this office...nothing about their service that stands out. The care I was given here was acceptable. However, I was scheduled for an appointment on Black Friday, November 23 at 8:15 a.m. I even received an email confirmation for it. I showed up early only to find that the eye care center was closed that day. To be sure, I waited outside (in the cold) for about 40 minutes. While I was there, I called and left a voice message letting the office know I was there and asked for someone to call me back and let me know when I can return for my appointment. I haven't heard from the office since, and when I called today (Wednesday) to ensure I wouldn't be billed, I was connected to a scheduler named Samuel, who graciously listened to me vent my frustration with the Bear office and confirmed that I did indeed have an appointment on a day that all of their offices were closed. Like other medical offices have done in the past, your office should be checking the week ahead and, at the very latest, I should have been called the day before Thanksgiving and informed of the "scheduling conflict" or called immediately on Monday with an apology by someone willing to reschedule the appointment that your office messed up. I cannot recommend this eye care center to anyone.

The doctors and staff here are very professional and welcoming always. I had issues with my insurance company and the ladies at the front desk were amazing in helping to resolve the problem. Also the lady at the glasses department is so friendly and always ready to assist you with picking your choice of frame for your prescription.

I completed a eye exam and a contact lense exam on the 12/14/2020, i was not given a copy of my prescription, contacted the bear office on the 12/15/2020 for a copy if my prescription, I was told it will be emailed to my email address. Waited for several days never got my prescription, went in to the bear office to get a copy of my prescription, the representative printed an old prescription from 2019 that was expired, went in the next day to get a copy of the most recent prescription from my most recent eye exam completed on12/14/2020 the rep told me they don't have my most recent prescription for some reason, was told to reach out to the Newark location to obtain it, i was told they cannot provide a prescription because there was not tech or Dr available. Very terrible experience with lack of accountability. Would definitely not recommend their service.

I went there on 11/29/18 and the service was good. They told us (My mom and I) that they will give us a call in two weeks to pick up my glasses. Two weeks passed but still no glasses. We decided to wait for four weeks to pass and we gave them a call. They said the glasses aren't ready and we didn't complain at all. We gave them a call about two weeks ago and they said they sent the glasses to the wrong address and I was really annoyed by that. Up to date (1/21/19) I still don't have my glasses.

Didn't have a long wait. The assistants seem to do everything here and were nice. The Dr only comes in at the very end for results. Glasses arrived promptly but I was never notified. Overall i would use them again but would have to follow up regularly for orders

from the warm welcome at the front desk to the supremely knowledgeable and professional staff, i couldn't be more pleased with this visit. i appreciate that i saw a number of women of color, as diversity and representation in the medical field is important. dr. korley specifically addressed my concerns from previous visits with other physicians, set a roadmap for my care plan going forward, identified some root causes and made me feel included in her determination of next steps. i felt listened to, my concerns were validated and at no time did i feel like my care wasn't the highest priority. i'm so glad to have found this practice.
