Simon Eye - Middletown

A technician named Ted adjusted the pair of glasses I picked up at another Simon Eye location two weeks ago. I had them adjusted since purchasing them twice but just weren't right, kept slipping off or down. T though took care of them quickly , one time, it was the second good experience I had at this location since stopping by earlier this year to get my old pair adjusted. Friendly staff too , but kudos too Tee!!!

I spent over 1k on these two pair of sun glasses purchased last year from Simon Eye. I went to put them on while on vacation and noticed, one pair has a defect in the lens and the other pair, both lenses are loose in the frames. I went back to Simon Eye for help with my issues and was simply turned away because the warranty expired. These glasses have never been worn, I have literally spent THOUSANDS of my hard earned money with Simon Eye every year! In my opinion, good customer service should dictate that something be done about my issue. To just turn me away is unconscionable!!!! In the future I will be taking my business elsewhere!!!!

Accidently made an appointment at Simon eyes, after in my original review I stated that I would not be visiting this location again, but I figured I'd explain how it went. Showed up to my appointment early, but was taken care of almost right away, everyone was incredibly nice and very professional as always but there was a different experience after the exam, while I sat with Amber discussing my choices in lenses I noticed the attitude and confidence, and knowledge she presented herself with and made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable enough to ask questions. I even discussed my pass experience about Simon Eyes with her and she went out of her way to make sure I did not experience anything like that during this visit. She even gave me a case for my glasses and explained to me that I still have the warranty on my current glasses that I will now be repairing free of charge. I surely hope Simon eyes, and whoever the manager/supervisor at this location takes note for Amber. I have no doubt I'll be visiting Simon Eyes once again. ~~~~~~Old Review EDIT: Simon Eye's did reach out to me to try to resolve my issue, so I'll be changing my review to 5 stars. Added photo of email for transparency reasons. This was my first time visiting Simon eyes and I have to say that it was an amazing experience. I felt so comfortable that for a second I forgot I was there for business! The ambient, the techs, everyone was so welcoming. Hell I even forgot to wear a mask (completely my fault, I was oblivious to the sign.. I also got very confused by what door you're supposed to use... it's the one all the way on the left closes to the curb.) The establishment was incredibly clean, chairs were spaced out nicely also. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Well I got a 200 dollar frame... that did not come with a hard case. Especially as someone who's always bought cheaper frames from Costco that ALWAYS seem to have a hard case. This might not even be Simon Eye's fault, but I think it should of been disclosed that some of their luxury frames come in a paper box... that was awfully disappointing for a luxury brand frame. Will this stop me from recommending this location? No, especially if you're looking for great customer service. Will I be coming back to this location? Nah, but it might be a second option if Costco does not have anything I like. Edit: added photos since Simon eyes responded.~

My son has complicated eyes with multiple diagnoses. We've seen a multitude of optometrists and specialists.. many we felt dismissed our concerns or never had a clear plan to address his conditions. From our first visit with Dr. Ides we walked away confident, with a game plan, and the reccomendation of stick on eye patches (game changer for anyone else patching for amblyopia and so thankful that Dr. Ides suggested them!). Every visit we go to the office staff, but especially, Dr. Ides is so beyond friendly and welcoming. Every other eye doctor had a way of making my son feel discouraged when he got a letter wrong. Dr. Ides has a way about her that exudes encouragement and positivity. Dr. Ides seriously has been the greatest referral we could have ever gotten. If you are looking for someone who works well with kids.. do not hesitate to make an appointment with Dr. Ides!

I've been a patient here for about 10 years and I've had appointments with three different doctors at this office: Dr. Brown, Dr. Yerkes, and Dr. Gardner. All three were very friendly and patient as they tested my eyes to make sure they got my prescription right. They offer all kinds of glasses, sunglasses, and contacts here. You can buy fancy name brands but they also offer cheaper pairs depending on what you want. I highly recommend coming to Simon Eye for your eye care.

The doctors and staff are wonderful. They are always polite and helpful. I have had wonderful experiences at Simon for the past decade. However, the corporate policies are the worst. On a previous visit they charged me $40 just for sitting at the table to try on contract lenses, even though didn't buy any. On my last visit, I intentionally didn't look at or show interest in contacts. They still charged $40 to my account because the doctor updated my prescription in the system. When I called to inquire about the charge, I was told I signed for it. In reality, I only signed for my glasses prescription. Despite the staff at the local office, I will not be returning.

My 1st time at this location. Very friendly and welcoming staff. The Opthalmologist was very informative. Extremely Clean Place! Keep up the good work guys

I believe that my experience was disappointing. I have never had a provider withhold script after completion of an exam. Because I had not been to this provider previously I was asked to pay an additional 90$ to receive the script for contacts. I have never had a provider do this. My question is if you're doing the exam and being paid by my insurance why are you charging me additional money to release the information. In addition now I will not be able to go to a different provider due to my insurance already being billed. My daughter who had been here previously for contacts was charged 40$ for her contacts and this did not include the full supply just one pair, and it wasn't even the correct script due to being out of stock. I am very disappointed and will not return, neither will my husband or children.
