Delaware Eye Institute

I had a great experience at my yearly check-up. I was taken back on time for my appointment. The tech Kennedy was wonderful very knowledgeable ans kind made me feel very at ease throughout my exam. I saw Dr. Schmidt who was very nice. Usually I see Dr Curry he was out that day. I was in out with an hour. I appreciated that. I scheduled my next yearly appointment with a very nice friendly front desk person. I've been a patient of Delaware Eye since 2014, my husband is also a patient there.

Front desk could have been friendlier. The young man who did the prep was great. The doctor was quick, thorough and very nice. The wait times out front and in the back could have been shorter. There are a lot of people coming through which is great for them. Not sure if they need another doctor or not. Over all my visit was fine.

I was welcomed and checked in promptly and directed to the appropriate waiting area. The wait was short. All staff were efficient and courteous. Dr Curry gave very clear information and made sure that I understood everything

The eye clinic saw me immodestly due to an urgent matter. The front desk clerk was kind and tjouhfull. Also Danny was helpful (she always is! And she has a beautiful smile) the medical assistant to Dr. Schmidt was helpful at walked me through the steps of procedures.

This was my second visit to this office, and unfortunately I experienced significant wait times both times. My most recent appointment was scheduled for 12:40pm, and I wasn't seen by Dr. Schmidt until 1:30pm. I understand that delays can happen, but waiting nearly an hour past my scheduled time--especially on more than one occasion--is frustrating. It also appeared that my appointment began around the same time the doctor was scheduled for lunch, which made the delay even more concerning. Once I was finally seen by Dr. Schmidt, I asked if there was anything I could do in the future to better align my appointment time with when I would actually be seen. During that conversation, he stated that "waiting an hour is normal." The response felt dismissive and lacked empathy. Rather than acknowledging the inconvenience or helping deescalate the situation, the interaction came across as unprofessional.

All the staff and Dr. Curry were wonderful. I received no less than 4-5 appointment time reminders . But wasn't seen on time . Matter of fact I was in the office 10 minutes early to be respectful . I wasn't seen until 3:50 then back to the waiting room until 4:24 . Saw the doctor at 4:40 he was done after 10 minutes. And I was out the door at 4:58. My 3:20 appointment started with the drive at 2:40 and ended at 5:24. I was seen by personnel for exactly 25 minutes. From my appointment time at 3:20 to 4:50 , 55 minutes was waiting. You have to be able to stream line this process. I want to reiterate the staff and doctor were engaged and extremely personable. However the disrespect shown to your patients time is really disheartening.

It was a surprisingly positive experience. I had a lot of anxiety going into my surgeries but Dr Curry has such a good way with patients and inspires a lot of confidence. Everybody who works there was great. They made the whole experience so easy.

I have been going to the Delaware Eye Institute for many years. The staff is very kind and professional. They do their best to get you examined thoroughly and out the door as quickly as possible. Sometimes there is a wait, but they do their best. The only negative thing I can say is someone in scheduling messed up my last appointment by scheduling me with the wrong Doctor, so I had to pay a fee. I wasn't happy about that at all. I expressed it to the young lady who checked me in. She did try to do something to help avoid the fee, but it was a fail. I was told to make sure I tell them to schedule me with the correct doctor for next year's visit. I've never had to do that before. I would have given 5 's prior to my most recent experience.
