The Optical at Delaware Eye Institute

I had an extremely pleasant experience with this location. As we travel for work, I was only going to be in the area for 3 months. I came in with a prescription from another eye doctor and got my glasses here because they have a huge selection. I was pretty set on just getting new lenses for my old frames, but quickly gathered a selection of probably over 20 lenses that I began considering. What I thought would be a quick trip, turned into quite the visit! Everyone - especially Ashley - was super kind and patient with me as I'm not great at making decisions, especially unexpected ones! They helped me make my decision from both an appearance standpoint as well as making sure I understood the implications of the frames I was looking at (my prescription is very strong, so the frames I choose makes a difference). I was also quite price sensitive and Ashley was very understanding of that as she helped me price my options and think it over. I decided to get new frames with my lenses, ordering was quick and easy and the order was placed carefully. Paying was easy and using my insurance was easy. I got my glasses and was having some issues adjusting to my new prescription, I came back in to speak about it the employees were very kind in trying to sort out what the problem may be. I ended up having to go back to my eye doctor to get the script adjusted. I had my glasses remade and despite the order being placed correctly, the lenses had been created without the blue light filter. The employees at The Optical were very apologetic and quick to get the issue remediated! New lenses were ordered and they were in ASAP. I got to hold onto my glasses in the meantime and use them up until I came in to get the new lenses cut and placed. They also made it a priority to get that done quickly. I am very grateful for all of there help and accommodation along the way I can't say enough kind things about every single employee who I had the opportunity to interact with here. I was so embarrassed that it took me so long to choose frames, that I then had issues with my prescription and then on top of that the lenses were messed up by the manufacturer. Mistakes happen, my embarrassment is my own and none of those issues were caused by The Optical - although that didn't stop them from helping as much as possible with every single one. What matters more than anything was the professional response from The Optical, their interest in making sure I was happy with my frames and lenses and their accommodation given that I was going to be moving soon! Robin, Greg and Ashley thank you all for being wonderful and helping me end up with glasses that I absolutely adore - something I thought would never happen with how much I love contacts!! So if you are looking for a great experience and a LARGE selection of frames, I would not hesitate to recommend The Optical. I'm stunned by the negative reviews... People often only review when they want to complain which is valuable but good reviews are important too! I constantly saw customers when I've stopped in and everyone I had seen was treated with the same level of courtesy and respect as I was.

Over a year ago I went to the optical for my glasses. Spent a bundle between my regular glasses, computer glasses and Rx sun glasses. All was well until I had a problem with 2nd Rx. The new Rx lenses were replaced into my old frame. I went back to the center frequently due to frequent issues with frame and not being able to see clearly. This went on close to a year and finally in December I was offered a different pair of frames that may work. I went back in Feb requesting an update no response until later that month, a bit too late. It just showed me I was not a priority. I had to use another Optical for help. Soo, buyers beware, all is well until there is a problem.

Delaware Optical was awesome today; I went in just to look very quickly. I explained to Beth what I wanted and needed. Very professional! I'll have new glasses in a few days.

I buy all my eyeglass here. My experience is always great!

After my eye exam, I went over to order new glasses. I inquired if they accept Davis Vision. An employee rudely said they didn't. Felt as if I was wasting his time.

There's is one particular employee that always seems to be annoyed that he has to do his job and is rude to me
