Bloomingdale Eye Care

This place is absolutely awful. I've had to waste 3-4 separate visits just to get my contacts THAT I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN. I told the doctor multiple times that I was fine with the lenses I already had -- I simply needed an updated prescription. Instead, he forced me into trial after trial of contacts I didn't like, dragging me back almost four times just to "verify" what I already told him. The front desk staff is equally unprofessional and rude. On my last visit, no one even greeted me -- one receptionist stayed on the phone while another popped out of the contact closet and dismissed me with a rude "yes?" To make matters worse, when I finally asked for my prescription so I could go elsewhere, they wouldn't even provide it. Completely unacceptable. Do not go here. The staff is rude, the process is drawn-out, and they make something simple unbelievably frustrating.

This place is pretty good. I have been here twice & the staff is always friendly. Eye doc always makes corny jokes & asks about the Bucs (hence the four stars). Lol No, he is really good & nice.

BEST OF SEVEN MEDICAL FACILITIES I received excellent emergency care from the doctor and staff of Bloomingdale Eye Care on August 17, 2023. I have been a patient there for well over 10 years. This is my first review for them. Rather than a regularly scheduled appointment, on the morning of August 17 I was in an emergency situation. I called when they first opened and was seen an hour later. The doctor reviewed the details and background of my situation and then examined my eyes. As a result I was given a treatment plan and scheduled to return in about a week. Later on the August 17 the same day I wanted to ask the doctor a question. I thought the staff would relay my question to the doctor and the staff would call me back. But what actually happened is when I called, I talked to doctor. I was impressed. The cost for my visit was surprisingly low, certainly lower than I expected for an emergency appointment that was not on their schedule. Within the past month I have dealt with a hospital, its ER and as a short-stay patient, two primary care offices, a walk-in clinic, a specialized medical clinic, and Bloomingdale Eye Care. While I generally received excellent care from the other medical facilities, the best overall place that helped me was Bloomingdale Eye Care due to the highest quality of every detail of Bloomingdale Eye Care's operations. Five stars with many thanks!

This Dr took 6 months and multiple visit to get my contacts. He tried to diagnose me with a rare eye condition and refused to get me contacts until I saw a specialist. The specialist told me I did not have the condition and he wasn't sure why I was sent to him in the first place. Then 3 more appts before I could get my contacts ordered. I ended up not being able to see my newborn baby properly for 3 months because of the never ending excuses and delays from the office. Then just getting the prescription to order my lenses was a nightmare. My insurance wouldn't cover them because the office would approve them medically necessary so I ordered them from 1-800. After I paid out of pocket, the office then said they were medically necessary and the insurance would approve but it was too late to get a refund. Never in my life have I dealt with such horrible care and had to go into an office so frequent just to get one prescription. Pretty sure they make reasons for you to come in multiple times so they can bill extra profit. Insurance only covers one visit but they charge for every time you walk in that door. Also found staff and visits to be very rushed, unfriendly and unprofessional.

I have been coming here since 2005, so almost 20 years. I have never had a bad experience. They caught my retinal detachment early and the specialist they sent me to said I was lucky. I did not require surgery, but what I did have done was not fun. My whole family sees them and love them. I have many eye problems and they are always been on top of taking care of my eyes.

5 stars across the board. I've been to my fair share of optometrists and I finally found the right place!! From the moment I called to schedule my appointment, to the day I picked up my glasses - fantastic experience. Professional and knowledgeable staff who provide great customer service. Clean facility. Staff worked to maximize my insurance benefits. Doctor Diana talked through my history with me before and during my exam and made it a very personal experience. Tom helped me with my frames and lenses - he explained all of my options and what lenses would work best for me since I work on a computer all day (if you do too - you have to check out the blue light technology lenses because they're amazing). I feel terrible for not remembering their names but the gal who answers the phones and checks you in makes you feel like you're booking at the Ritz and the gal who helped fit my glasses when I picked them up again, provided great service. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for quality care and exceptional service.

If it were possible, I would give this place zero stars. Although they're very welcoming and friendly, the glasses I got were absolutely wrong. They're over a year old now, and I've had nothing but problems with them and the store. When I first went to pick them up, it was a total struggle. They close for no reason and post it outside their door, not on their website. So I drove all the way over there just to have to drive back home. Waste of time. Then when I actually got my glasses, they put the wrong lenses in and I had to go back the same day I got them for them to replace them. Flash forward 9 months, I notice my lenses were getting scratched and the coating that's on the lenses is peeling off, and I am the most careful person with my glasses. I don't sleep with them on, they go back in the case at night, I don't use anything abrasive to clean them, etc. I took the glasses in and asked if they were the anti-scratch, which is what I was supposed to have, but of course, they weren't what I had paid for. They ordered me knew lenses, then when they arrived, they told me I had to leave my glasses with them for at least 24 hours for them to replace the lenses because they had to cut them for my frames. These are my only glasses and I am a full time college student that works around 35 hours a week. I don't have time to sit around all day without my vision waiting for them to fix a mistake that shouldn't have happened in the first place. I told them I couldn't do that and all they could say was that I could come in while the doctor was there and he could "attend to my glasses between other appointments". I completely understand that I'm not the only customer, but I've had problems with them from the second I walked in the door. You would think they would try to work with you a little more. I'll never go back again.

Staffs are very friendly. But unfortunately the service which i received was not so great. Some issues with the prescribed glass, it could be an issue with digital lens or with the prescription, not sure. I have undergone a re-examination of my eyes and reordered/adjusted the glasses to match to the right level. It took almost 2 weeks to fix this issue. Finally i got a good lenses for my eyes. Next year visit to this place is a question mark...
