Dr. Desai, is an awesome surgeon and eye doctor. I would highly recommend him and The Eye Institute Of West Florida. Dr. Desai takes the time to explain the procedure and makes you feel calm and comfortable while he is doing it. He explains what to expect following the surgery. I would go back to him and also send my family and friends.

Avoid this place if possible. Had a pterygium removed and had nothing but problems and ended up needing cataract surgery after .Plan on waiting 30- 60 minutes to be seen. I highly recommend The Bay Area Eye Institute. Bigger is not always better.

Justina M. Jacob, OD, a New Jersey native, completed her graduate degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Following optometry school, she completed a residency in ocular disease at the VA Hospital in East Orange, NJ, which is an affiliate of the SUNY College of Optometry in NYC. Her extensive training in ocular disease has given her the skills to diagnose a wide range of diseases including dry eyes, uveitis, glaucoma, and several corneal and retinal disorders.
