I have been going to Central Florida Eye Specialists for many years starting at their old office on New York Ave. My amazing Ophthalmologist elsewhere told me that he would send his mother there for the specialized care that I needed at the time, and he guided me to making that transition so many years ago. Dr. Thomas Kropp was excellent as I was promised he would be. Through the years and as my needs have changed, I have been under the care of Dr. Barber, Dr. Scruggs, and now Dr. Chih who is so thorough and caring. They are no longer on New York Ave, and even though we have moved 3 times further away from the office in Deland which is the closest one for us now, I'm far too happy there with doctors and staff to go anywhere else! Keep up the excellent work and thank you for years of quality care.

I am leaving this review to warn others and to formally document our experience with this business. We received a bill for a "no-show" fee for an appointment we never made. We have never stepped foot in this office, never called to schedule anything, and have absolutely no reason to -- we have our own optometrist located 15 minutes from our home. There is no logical reason we would schedule with an office 40 minutes away. To make matters worse, the appointment we allegedly "missed" was scheduled during a time when my husband was working 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week at a power plant during an outage. He was not making personal appointments -- he was working around the clock. We will not be paying this fraudulent fee. This appears to be a predatory billing practice targeting people who may not push back. We are filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and will be pursuing every available avenue to dispute this charge. If you value your time, your money, and your integrity, I strongly encourage you to think twice before giving this business your personal information. To the business: I demand that you go through your records and mail my husband a CANCELED invoice (you have his name and address apparently, and we're still unsure how) for this alleged December 15th, 2025 NO SHOW or we will be escalting this matter and filing a formal complaint with Florida's Board of Optometry.

Dr. Truong is very good. He is quite professional, personable, and patient. He answered all of my questions and made sure I had no others. The technicians are also quite professional and personable. Once called back, they made sure that I was escorted to the next phase, I understood what was going to happen next, and that each phase was handled promptly. The process was as pleasant as possible. My only reason for grading at four stars was the wait time. My appointment was at 10:15 and the wait time before being seen was over 45 minutes.

Staff was very kind, efficient and patient. I was seen on time and felt I was treated very well. On my follow-up visit I had to bring research I had done on a complicating situation I have and both the technician and the surgeon took it seriously and wanted to go over it before we mapped out the path ahead. It was wonderful to be "heard" and taken seriously.

Highly skilled staff and relaxing atmosphere. They were very helpful, even before my appointment, as they guided me through my online appointment process. Dr Flemming is very knowledgeable, friendly and "wise beyond his years"!

Central Florida Eye Specialists are the best! Dr. Todd Fleming's professionalism and expertise were extremely helpful in explaining my cataract surgery. The entire staff was exceptional, welcoming, kind, and helpful. Scheduler, Carissa Riera, went above and beyond to schedule my surgeries and follow ups not once, but twice, because I had a conflict. As well as scheduling, Carissa was extremely helpful in guiding me through the whole process from the initial appointment for eye measurement, through both surgeries, and follow ups. I highly recommend Central Florida Eye Specialists! You are the best! Thank you!

There are so many reasons why I like this place. I see Dr Mackinder, my husband and mom see Dr Jones and my mother recently had cataract surgery with Dr Truong. All the doctors, techs and the office staff are terrific. I particularly want to say that the treatment my mother receives is so kind and caring. She is plagued with extremely dry eyes and she has dementia. The staff are very kind and patient with her. Her experience with the cataract surgery was exceptional and she is able to see so much better.

Dr. Jones was very personable, efficient, and considerate with a warm personality. He is a perfect eye doctor in my eyes which feel , you won't be disappointed better with the medicine he prescribed. Look forward to your appointment. Hope you feel better soon.
