I made an appt here last minute, same day, and had a minimal wait time in the lobby. The receptionist (so sorry I missed your name!) was very sweet and really knew her stuff; the eye test machinery she used looked complicated. Additionally, she even showed me my own inner eyeball after some testing, which I honestly thought was super cool. When Dr. Rockman came into the picture, I found him kind, cordial, and professional, as well as thorough with the exam, all while listening to my concerns. He helped me understand my vision issues, from eye strain and fatigue to needing readers. He even walked me back into the lobby, where I met the receptionist again for check out, but also Clinton. Check out for the exam was easy peasy, and picking out a frame was not rushed; Clinton really helped me pick out a frame (he gave me his genuine opinions on certain ones- a.k.a., didn't let me pick out one too bold, bland, etc.) and set me up to stay in budget (frame and lenses costed ~$50 each). I highly recommend this facility!
I am not one to complain, and I understand that in any service-based business, occasional oversights can happen. However, I was genuinely disappointed by the overall condition and quality of care at this office. Both exam rooms I visited were poorly maintained, with sinks showing visible debris and buildup, and floors that appeared not to have been cleaned or vacuumed in quite some time.
The eye examination itself felt rushed, and I had to return the following week to see a different doctor to correct my prescription, which is not a complicated one. I have comprehensive Humana Vision insurance, which includes a $10 copayment for an annual exam. I understand that a contact lens exam can sometimes incur an additional fee, but in the past I have only paid around $30 to $40 more, totaling roughly $50. In this case, I was charged $140, and the front desk staff struggled to clearly explain how the charges were calculated.
When I asked for a sample kit with solution and a storage case, the response from staff felt dismissive, leaving me feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued patient. The office was not busy during either visit, which made the lack of cleanliness and attentiveness even more concerning.
I was told my RX for contacts had expired from last year. I advised contact RX are for 2 years, I was told it was state law. Being a former Vision center manager, I knew the state of Florida it is 2 years. I was also quoted the pricing , which was unusually high. When I asked if my insurance was paying any part , I was told that was in addition to my co pay. Truth was no, they do not accept my eye insurance and I was being charged full pricing. I walked out and will not be back.
Dr. Persaud is wonderful. Thorough, kind, and friendly. She's helped me transition to new multifocal contacts and I love them!
Highly recommend!
I don't appreciate being told that I have to pay $49 for an elective service, or I can't be seen by the doctor, and my appointment would be cancelled.
If you believe I "need" the service, educate me. Teach me why it's necessary. Terrible policy and business practice.
I will not return.
People are very nice and knowledgeable. Very helpful in narrowing choices for frames. They have very hi tech equipment. A very good experience.
Very knowledgeable eye doc. She seems to care about the outcome. She sees you in a timely matter where you don't wait 45 minutes past your appointment time
The staff was very nice. They explained each process and did so in a timely manner.
