We are snowbirds down from Canada and one of my eyes started to hemorrhage to the point that I lost vision in it. I was referred to him and was seen the next morning. Since then I've had an injection as well as a follow up appointment. Still can't see well out of the eye but he says it is starting to clear up. Very nice and personable man.

We had an appointment and the office staff called to reschedule due to emergency. At the date they chose as the new day , we arrived and were told it was cancelled because they no longer take our insurance. No call was made to us to cancel. Very unprofessional. Where is my $50 charge for their error?! They say they will charge $50 to no shows, well, this was a no show from them. It is no easy task to get a person with special needs ready for an appointment like this.

If I could give a zero I would! Dr Cartwright has absolutely no bedside manner. I sent my mother to be seen for corrective laser surgery after he failed to properly remove scar tissue and instead of asking if we might be able to cover the cost out of pocket.
He made them wait for over three hours and then saw her insurance was ineligible and simply told the nurse "this is a waste of time insurance won't cover this and walked out." No goodbye, no discussion simply walked out.
It's incredible that my mother (69 years old) a woman who served in her youth as both a surgical assistant and office manager of an ophthalmological practice for over 15 years cannot even be given humane treatment. Shame on you Dr. Cartwright do better!
Update-Thank you for the response. However, had he asked we would have gladly paid out of pocket for care and correction. Assumptions made prior to even asking is the loss of a long term patient and professionalism that one should strive for always. We have chosen to simply seek care elsewhere.

I am extremely frustrated with the follow up I am receiving. I had eye duct plugs, put in on Friday for dry eye. I waited six weeks for an appointment to only have them put in by a resident. Dr. Cartwght did not even check in after the resident put in the eye duct plugs to ensure it was done correctly. I was told by the resident that this is something that they do all the time and that it was a simple procedure. Well it was not done right. I have been calling since Monday to try to be seen because my eyes have been irritated and I feel the plugs rubbing against my eye. I have a mirror that magnifies and I can see that they're not flush against my eye lid. They are raised and that's what is causing the irritation. Yesterday I was told that a supervisor would be contacted and they will get back to me. I have yet to get a call back. I am very uncomfortable and am constantly putting drops in my eyes all day due to the irritation. I will be calling again today To tell them that I urgently need an appointment. I am at the point that I'm just going to go to the hospital and ask them to remove the plugs.

Honestly a negative if I could. Doc insisted that he "saved me from being admitted to the hospital" and I said that was never on the table... he said "yes they sent me pictures of your eye and I told them not to". I said they never even took a picture of ME, let alone my eye....he then brushed me out of the room, didn't even look at the spot that was bothering me. I have a follow up today, have been vomiting all morning, I have been on hold FOR OVER 3 HOURS and no one is picking up. This is honestly THE worst practice I have ever seen.

I was scheduled a serious of appointments including laser, was told I would receive a call soon to let me know my out of pocket expenses before hand. It's been 6 weeks no call and I've left 10 messages. My appointment is in 5 days.
