Florida Eye Center - Eye Doctor in Land O' Lakes

We visited this provider for a retina scan due to potential side effects of medication. Unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we waited nearly a full hour in the lobby with no communication or apology from staff regarding the delay. During this time, a young short male technician with a beard--visible through an open door--was frequently on his cellphone. This lack of professionalism set the tone for the visit. When we were finally called back, a young female technician with long blonde curly hair and glasses ushered us into a dark room, stating we were waiting for the machine. There was no apology for the wait, and I was concerned about whether the equipment had been properly sanitized, as it was used immediately after the previous patient. I had signed a form declining a refraction, as we already see an optometrist annually. Despite this, the technician insisted on performing the refraction, claiming the doctor would want it done. This added unnecessary time and stress to the visit, especially as I had work obligations. She repeatedly retested and asked the same questions on the eye chart, giving me the impression that she lacked confidence or training. I would not have trusted a prescription from this interaction. Later, we were sent back to the lobby, only to be called again by the same male technician who had previously been on his phone. He had a heavy accent and made no effort to engage--no greeting, no explanation, nothing. His demeanor came off as indifferent and unwelcoming. The only redeeming aspect of this visit was the doctor, who has always been friendly, professional, and kind. I genuinely appreciate his demeanor and care. However, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. My signed consent was blatantly disregarded, and I felt disrespected throughout the visit. If you value your time and expect basic courtesy, you may want to consider other providers.

NOTE: This review is for the Tampa Clinic Only. I have only been to the TAMPA office, and they are great! The staff -- from front desk to the assistants to the doctor -- are courteous, attentive to your needs and proactive in getting answers to your questions. Dr. Allen Pusateri is phenomenal, the kind of caring, compassionate doctor you see on TV but never seem get in real life! He listens to you and responds to what he heard, not what he thinks he heard. Before doing a procedure, he explains it fully, not just the possible risks, answers all of your questions and doesn't minimize or dismiss your concerns. He answered all of my questions to my satisfaction and relief. After the cataract surgeries (plus inserting vision-correcting lens), both he and his staff called me to ensure I was comfortable and that everything was fine. It's been 7 months and I am faring very well, comfortable in knowing that should I need him, he will be there for me.

The care I received from Dr. Chelsey Shepos and her staff was exceptional. I have been struggling for years with dry eye and contact lens issues plus astigmatism. I had my prescription changed countless times and tried more brands than I can count. I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and I flew to Florida to see Dr Shepos because I had heard she specialized in contact lenses. Dr Shepos examined my eyes, put in punctal plugs and completely changed my prescription. For the first time in years, I can see perfectly. I can't thank Dr. Shepos enough for giving me back my vision.

Unhelpful and Unfriendly. Wasted my time driving to this location to be told I requested a reschedule after I confirmed the appointment via mobile phone. Then check in tech was very stern and unwilling to work with me after I stated I did not request a reschedule or a voicemail stating they were going to cancel my appointment. Completely unprofessional when the appointment was for my son who is on the autism spectrum. Find better staff.

Florida Eye Center is great! The staff is friendly, caring, and compassionate. Dr. Allen Pusateri is wonderful. Both he and his dad, Dr. Thomas Pusateri, take time to thoroughly explain results, procedures, etc., and answer any questions I might have.

First time patient review: I chose Dr Pusateri as my opthamologist because he was highly recommended by a friend and also because of his fantastic reviews. I was seen in a timely manner, had plenty of time to explain my issues without feeling rushed. The staff is great! Dr. Pusateri made me feel as though I was in good hands. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Overall it was exactly what I was looking for, quality professional care close to home. I highly recommend this doctor.

I had two pair made at this facility, one for computer and one for general use including driving with all the bells and whistles. Computer glasses were made excellent no issues. Other glasses they didn't I couldn't drive with it, I had to go back they corrected the lenses however no anti-glare which I paid for, now they want me to pay $80 extra to get premium anti-glare and no guarantee that glare will go away. I have two old pairs one 10 years ago and another 7 years ago, they do not glare at night. This woman at desk was absolutely nightmare to customer service, she told me I have three option 1. pay extra with no guarantee, 2. she can talk to her manager who is not there but at other facility and 3. live with it. I love all three option which does not address the original issue of I PAID FOR ANIT-GLARE so where is it? This was the first and last time I would go here.

I'm happy with the care I have received at Florida Eye Center. The doctors are friendly and knowledgeable. I have Glaucoma and I always get all the tests necessary to make sure I'm doing well.
