When we first got there until the time we left Everyone was friendly, helpful, courteous and went out of their way to make us feel safe and in good hands. My husband was getting cataract surgery and he was nervous. He tried to act tough but they made him feel relaxed and safe. Dr Zudan is Wonderful!!! If we could we would give him a 10 !!! Thank you & God Bless you and ALL of your staff.

Staff is extremely professional, courteous and helpful in all aspects. Dr. Zudan explained my diagnosis in detail, the surgical intervention to prevent blindness and set me up for surgery in his office the following week. He explained that he would do one eye first then the other eye the following week. He had a student in with him the day of my surgery explaining to her what my diagnosis was and the surgical procedure in depth. As a nurse I was delighted he treated me as a lay person (not assuming that I understood what my disease process was) with his instruction but also sharing his knowledge and experience with medical students. I am so glad that we finally have an eye surgeon in Okeechobee that will be able to preform all procedures here shortly. I as a nurse would recommend him to everyone and I thank Dr. Christine Brennan Bishop for sending me to him to catch my issue before it became an emergency.

An unexpected complication occurred during cataract surgery that required retinal surgery the following day. Although I am not blaming him for the complication, I am blaming him for not referring me to a corneal specialist.
I developed severe dry eye symptoms, including blurred vision, light sensitivity, redness, discomfort. He said I had blepharitis and suggested lid scrubs. Despite working in opthalmology, I said I disagreed and knew it wasn't just blepharitis. Having self-referred myself to a corneal specialist and being diagnosed with corneal damage (SPK Keratitis), I am taking steroids, tears, and warm compresses to treat the condition. I should have been referred by Dr. Zudan from the beginning.
