Amanda R. Byers, OD

Loved Dr. Byers, gentleman who assisted with my frames/lenses. At the time I was trying to be her patient her receptionist was BRUTAL & mean. Dr. Byers I "think" made a comment at some point, "but I don't understand we've been so kind to you" I couldn't even articulate how horrible her receptionist was. And the problem I was having with my Vision, is I also had macular degeneration and cataracts that were undiagnosed. Therefore that's why the lenses in the prescription didn't work. Bay County is definitely left wanting. She's very kind, and the receptionist doesn't reflect the Dr. or optician @ that time. I've seen/experienced the worst practices of support personnel to fabulous Dr.s. Had her receptionist not yelled at me and such an abrasive "I don't care" dimeqnor I would gladly have stayed with Dr. Byerly. Front desk personnel CAN make or break a business and definitely in a medical setting they can break the patient also. I suggest her, but, be mindful of how you're treated by her front desk. I couldn't tell her anything myself. No feedback. I just got yelled at. Otherwise she would've still been my Dr. & she herself deserves 5 stars. I think these Drs need to start recording and put cameras up to see how their patients are being treated. Same experience with a couple others. I have had to just leave the county to learn I was being mistreated and it wasn't my fault at all. Plenty of S Walton & west provider's have great personnel.

So grateful for Amanda and Nich who got me in last minute after my visit to the DMV required an updated script to pass my vision test! (Plus, very stylish frame options. 10/10)

Dr. Byers was great, very personable, and explained everything I needed to know about my eye health. Wait times weren't terrible, but it did seem they book multiple appts back to back. Still better than other places in town that accept my insurance. I appreciate that the office knows how to handle the insurance process. Front desk was friendly, eye glass lady was nice and really helpful. She also understands the insurance coverage process and didn't force me into any purchases. Tech that took me back to the room was also friendly. Overall, a pleasant experience that didn't take up hours of my day.

Had a really bad experience at this office. Ordered 3 pairs of glasses. Had to call repeatedly over a 4 MONTH period before just one pair came in. Staff never knew what was going on whenever I called. Pair that finally came in was the wrong rx (even the optical guy - Dr. Byers' husband - acknowledged that) so he was to send them back. I called 1 month later as to the status of all 3 - still no idea why the others weren't in, and no record of the pair they were to send back. Front staff put Dr. Byers' husband on the phone and he was unbelievably rude. In trying to find out what the heck was going on, he finally cut me off and said in a nasty tone, "Do you want your money back?" I wanted my glasses, but after that I said I did and they refunded me. He didn't seem to care at all that they were losing a patient. The rest of the staff was very pleasant but sadly clueless.

Amanda Byers is the best in Panama city Florida. I have been going to her for years.The staff is friendly also and will answer your questions. I highly recommend this eye doctor to anyone. Thank you also to Aubrey there! If I could rate higher than 5 I would.

She is very kind. Did not wait long at all. More of a modern approach to eye care which was unique ...very great place

Dr Byers does a great job diagnosing my contact lens and my glasses prescription. The staff is very helpful as well.
