I drove an hr & 45 min from GA to pick up my glasses Saturday 10-18-25. The optician was attentive & conscientious; adjusting my frames' temples multiple times to ensure proper fit. I greatly appreciated her perfectionism.
Absolutely THE best experience I've ever had. From the call to schedule the appointment to the reception experience, eye testing prior to the exam and the exam itself. TOP NOTCH! The selection of eye glasses is not quite as exciting as the Costco in Jacksonville but the exam, the best prescription, the staff and the optical department are worth it. I couldn't give a higher recommendation!!!
I just had the best, most thorough eye exam ever. This was my first experience at Tally Eye, Dr. Erin Neal, at the Costco Vision Center. I learned more about my eyes and eye care than I had imagined. Dr. Neal explained every step of each procedure and explained the why/why not in my long-term eye care. Then I left her office to find a super patient and helpful staff with my selection of prescription glasses. The cherry on top of the experience was that my new glasses were half the price I paid in the past. When I was told the total cost, I said, "Wow! That's a lot less than I had expected!" The counter service person simply said, "Welcome to Costco Vision."
My son's eye exam experience was a mixed bag. The optometrist was excellent and did a good refracting job. The advertised price was $60 for eyeglass exam, $90 for contacts exam. Initially we went for eyeglass exam only, but were talked into doing contact exam for "extra $30 only". At checkout, the bill was $120 because of "astigmatism". There was a secret price list visible only to the checkout person, who claims this was their routine pricing policy. Astigmatism is common, and there is not an extra charge for eyeglass exam with astigmatism. Left a sour taste in mouth. So check on the price before proceeding.
I have had a very frustrating experience at this vision center. After two pairs of glasses being made that had the same exact vision distortion, I finally received a refund, along with explanations that I found illogical and unsatisfying. Honestly, the opticians clearly didn't fully understand what would account for the problems with my new glasses when both pairs of old glasses had zero problems whatsoever. The staff was always friendly and had a helpful attitude (especially Jess), but I'm really not pleased with the way things turned out. When the re-made glasses came in, I told them it had the same issue, but I was moving out of state less than a week later, so they gave me a refund for the frames and lenses.
I am puzzled as to why the opticians did not send me back to the optometrist I had seen at Costco; instead, they made small adjustments and asked me to continue wearing them to see if my eyes would adjust. After bringing my old prescription into a different Costco, I now suspect that my new prescription is incorrect. Now that I am out of state, they have told me there is nothing they can do, and I will have to pay out of pocket for a whole new eye exam 3 months after my initial one because insurance has already been filed. The optometrist office did not offer me a refund for the eye exam although they are the ones that have recommended I get a whole new eye exam.
I came to Costco because I was given the impression it would be convenient and save me money, but it has been neither of those things and I don't think I will be using Costco Vision Centers in the future.
Mixed bag. My eye doctor was great. But I was about 5 minutes late because of downed power lines from tropical storm Nicole, and so they charged me an extra 25$. That was really off putting. I tried to push back, but they weren't having it. So what was supposed to be 130 turned into $155. Not happy bob, not happy...
Kind courteous service from Ms. Tammy Williamson, the optician. She gave me good advice on the difference between progressive and bifocal lenses. The Costco prices are very reasonable.
I went in for contact lens fitting! They did more for me than any other place has ! I can now wear my contacts and see so clearly ! I couldn't before I went to Costco ! They're so friendly and helpful ! I highly recommend them !
