The front desk staff was professional, not too friendly because they seem to be extremely busy. Dr Hatsway's assistant was professional, through, and seemed to be concerned but extremely careful during the exam. Dr. Hathaway gave me my devastating results, I was in terrible distraught to not be able to get glasses prescribed because I need to be seen by a specialist first. Although my results were not as I expected I still feel like my overall results were professional, explained what the exam showed and was explained thoroughly about the findings. I will recommend Dr. Hathaway's office for eye examines. Glasses and contacts however I am a bit concerned and overwelmed at this point I was very pleased with this group of optomitry. I highly recommend this optometrist they are profession. Respectful and overall very helpful and I'm glad I chose them for their services. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate them a 9 rating not the highest rating but as close as I could to perfect because somewhere somehow I'm sure I missed something but it's a great choice for your exams and basic eye needs because if needed they will refer you to a specialist for more complex vision needs.

The Doctor himself is amazing as well as the male staff members are very courteous as well. However the older Caucasian lady is very rude and nasty. She needs an adjustment.... from observation her attitude tends to rub off on her male co-signer at the front desk. I have already started looking for a different provider. I don't understand you never know what the next person is going through. Even if she just sweetened up just a little bit I really don't think that she realizes the impact she could possibly have on others and maybe even herself. Take care for now! All with

My client and I have been trying for months to schedule a vision appointment for her and her children. Every single time we called, we confirmed that this office accepts Medicaid. They repeatedly told us they did. We were also instructed to call back on the first of every month to try to get an appointment. We did exactly that--twice--with no appointment available. Then we were told to call back on the 8th. Today we set aside time once again, called as instructed, and were suddenly told they don't accept Medicaid at all. This is after months of being assured they did. It's extremely frustrating, a complete waste of time, and unacceptable for a provider that is still listed on the Medicaid provider list. I have documentation showing they previously confirmed Medicaid acceptance, so this isn't a misunderstanding. I will not be recommending this office to anyone in the Tallahassee area, and I will also be notifying Medicaid so they can be removed from the provider list.

Front staff are professional and helpful! Dr Hathaway is nice enough and we were able to do a basic eye exam he was good at keeping my two year old calm. I had hoped to do a more thorough exam, my son was a preemie with growth restriction and that can sometimes affect eye development. I was also recommend by my son's speech therapist because of a couple things they noticed during therapy. I wish my concerns had been taken a little more seriously. Dr Hathaway also made a comment about a snack my son was holding calling it "junk food". I am sure he did not intend any offense but the comment was unnecessary and outside his field of practice (it pertained to nutrition). I felt awkward as my son has had a history of struggles around food and there was a period of time where I had to bring him to the pediatrician for weekly weigh-ins because he was refusing to eat very much at all.

I called, wasn't greeted with a good morning or anything. I was interested in scheduling a new patient appointment but they only schedule on Monday's and it's first come first serve I've never heard of any doctor offices doing that. But I knew the way she answered that phone I wasn't going to be a patient there. First impression is everything. No thank you -

It use to be patient friendly and showed care and compassion. I have been going there over 15 years and it has become the worst experience I've had at any professional office. The staff has become rude uncaring and when I ask this morning do the read their reviews. The new black eye doctor there wave his hand down turned and walked off. I thought to ask since I was treated so rude when I came in for just glasses repair and wasn't old leave them it would take two weeks so I reminded them that my insurance would replace them and I went to straton optical where I've never been and a beautiful young black lady MARY fixed them in two minutes I ask how much and she said thanks for coming in no charge. By the way I'm a 68 year old Blackman to clear the air. Dr Hathaway has put profit before patient care and playing chicken with a runaway train. He needs a complete new staff

If I could give negative 1000 stars I would. The staff is rude and unprofessional. the doctor doesn't listen to you and he also uses outdated and expired products. Beware if you are getting eye solutions and or contacts from this office check the dates. My daughter has been here for 2 visits.We will not be returning the worst experience at a doctor's I've ever experienced.Not to mention he was rude and impatient with my 6 year old child who by the way needs glasses but he refuses to give them to her. I guess he just wants to keep billing the insurance.Just to look at her and say she's fine despite 2 referrals stating she needs them. He also says oh she has a slight this and that but I wouldn't worry HELLO what you won't correct will get worse the reason we are here! I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!
