Office staff is terrible. I started calling in February for an appointment, spent two month try to speak with someone to make an appointment. Front desk picked up the phone and put me right on hold and then hanging up on me. I kept trying over and over so I got tired and decided to reach my health insurance rep to change me to another provider. But for some reason, they said I have to go to Prado Vision. I tried one more time for few days and finally someone decided not to leave me on hold, I guess I was lucky that day. The girl was a little rude it made not feel good about making an appointment but I did because I was desperate to have my vision checked. The appointment was made three months in advance. Today, I called to cancel the appointment and to make sure they have my name down for my appointment. Since nobody call me, texted or emailed me for a confirmation, it made me feel curious if I ever had that appointment. I called several times and as soon the lady picked up put me on hold. I was decided to speak to someone. I just had surgery few days ago and with terrible pain and did not sleep last night. So, when the lady picked up I started to tell her to stop hanging up the phone on me, so I guess I caught her attention. I asked her if I was down for today, she said yes. I wanted to know if she had me down since I did not receive a confirmation. I told her that I was canceling the appointment that I just had surgery and did not feel good. So I told her that I wanted to make an appointment, she told me I had to wait until October. I declined the appointment because it was too far and I was already fed up with this kind of patient treatment. After reading all reviews it appears I am not the only one who had this kind of unpleasant experience. Stay away from them, for me this is a sign that I should not intent to go there anymore.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the recent experience my aunt Graciela Davila had at the Prado Vision Center in Tampa today. There was a miscommunication regarding the appointment time, but she attended at the time that was confirmed. Despite this, she was met with unprofessional behavior upon arrival. When she entered the office at the rescheduled time, she was scolded by the receptionist who checked her in, stating that it was impossible the rescheduled time had been confirmed. This behavior was not only uncalled for but also highly unprofessional. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy, especially in a medical setting. The distress caused by this interaction was significant. After her appointment, she was so upset that she was crying. This emotional distress could have affected her recovery from EYE surgery that she had undergone the previous day. It is unacceptable that a patient should have to endure such treatment, particularly when they are already in a vulnerable state. The treatment she received has left a very negative impression, and we are reconsidering whether to continue using your services in the future. We hope that this feedback will be taken seriously and that steps will be taken to improve the communication and professionalism of your staff. Thank you Rey Cortez

Dr. Prado and Carla answered all of my mother's questions and provided great care. Yes, the office is busy and bustling (as noted in the other reviews) but this can be expected with an office with a highly experienced doctor and several other MDs seeing patients. I recommend these people if they coincide with your insurance plan. They'll take good care of you.

The place is a zoo! Front office staff is inept and rude. It took the doctor 3 days to send prescription to the pharmacy and made a big mistake: prescription read one drop every 4 DAYS instead of every 4 HOURS!!! It took them 2 weeks to correct their mistake. No wonder malpractice insurance rates are so high!! In short: their services are as bad as their art work.

My husband appointment was canceled today and the office staff did not even call me of sent a letter because the doctor that he was to see is no longer there. The office staff is very rude and very disrespectful. A complete waste of my time. And I had placed this appointment a year ago so that a whole year to let me know what was going on with this appointment and they did not. Very unsatisfactory and very disappointing.

02/02/2022 I took my immune compromised chemo patient mother in for cataract evaluation and surgery. We carry Lysol wipes everywhere we go, and when I wiped the arms of the reception room chair before my mom sat down, it was absolutely filthy. That dark, dingy, dated reception room probably hasn't been cleaned since the 1980's, and certainly hasn't been cleaned per standard medical office protocols during a pandemic. Office staff was masked. When Dr. Antonio Prado entered the room, he was unmasked, did not wash his hands and immediately shook my mom's hand. I very politely told him she was in chemotherapy and immune compromised, and could he please wear a mask. HE REFUSED!!! I have never had a healthcare professional absolutely refuse to protect the patient with such a simple request. He did not wash his hands when he entered, nor when he left the room. Dr. Prado puts his personal beliefs and inflated self-image above his patients needs.

It is impossible to get through to them. No one answers calls nor return calls. They are working on quantity versus quality care. Tons of patients always packed waiting area. Multiple appointments with no accomplishments. Billing and billing the elderly.
