Dr. Julia M. Byrd, MD: Tampa Children's Eye Clinic

Dr. Byrd is a PHENOMENAL doctor. She is one of the sweetest, kindest, most patient, compassionate doctors you could ever have the privilege of knowing. My five-year old has some complex medical needs and therefore we've seen a lot of doctors for different things. Dr. Byrd is truly one of those doctors who you meet and instantly connect with, and you just know she was meant to work with children. She is so patient and amazing with our daughter, even with the way she talks to her so gently. She has the best bedside manner I've ever experienced from a physician. She even went out of her way to reach out to me personally to clear up a mishap with the office. I've never had a doctor do that before. We've been with her from my daughter's initial strabismus diagnosis, to correction surgery, to now post-op exams. We love her so much we have no issues driving an hour away from home to see her--in fact, we used to drive even further when she practiced in Largo! If you're in need of a pediatric opthamologist for your child's needs, there's no one better!

Dr. Byrd and her staff at the Tampa Children's Eye Clinic are outstanding. She's 10 stars in my book. Fortunately for me, she also sees adults with difficult eye issues. She recently treated my husband for double vision. The improvement she was able to achieve is nothing short of a miracle. We are grateful to her and the entire practice. Working with this team has been a fabulous experience.

I cannot give enough stars for Dr. Byrd. My daughter was sent to her because we were told it was time for surgery. After Dr. Byrd's exam, she was confident that my daughter did NOT need surgery & her issues could be corrected using different strengthening techniques. Her bedside manner is amazing. She is patient, kind and answers questions. You are more than a number to Dr Byrd- it is evident that she truly cares about her patients. Her assistant is extremely kind and patient as well.

Is this location still open? We've been seeing Dr. Byrd for years now, and we love her - but I've not been able to get through. I've left voicemails, messaged through their site and emailed. No response.

So happy with my appt with Dr. Byrd. First off, I was thrilled to be able to get my son in for an appt the following week instead of having to wait months. Brought my son, he's just a baby..Dr. Byrd was so great with him, he was very calm. I was comfortable. I highly recommend her office!
