James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital Off-site Eye Clinic

I had a Awesome visit to the PDS Optical Clinic, adjacent to James A Haley Eye Clinic. I was serviced by a Licensed Optician, Ms Charlene Brazil. She was extremly, Knowledgeable, Professional and Possessed, Excellent Customer Service Skills!!! She was very helpful in the selection of my new frames and was very meticulous in ordering my glasses, with the special features for my prescription. What a lovely woman who enjoys serving "all- us" Veterans. She is definitely an asset to this vital role of the PDS Optical Company, that partners with our VA in receiving our glasses, after our visit to all Our "Wonderful-Doctors, at our VA Eye Clinic on 46thSt.!!! I defiantly give her Ten Stars for her, Customer Service, Knowledge and Kindness to "all-us" Veterans!!!! Mary Ann Aiken Wesley Chapel

I could not have asked for a more professional and caring staff at my eye appointment yesterday. I was seen right on time for my scheduled appointment. The tech. who preformed my eye exam was very proficient and was able to get my vision corrected better than I have had for many years. The cornea specialist who treated me took the time to do everything he could to get the best vision in my injured eye, even referring me to an outside specialist for contacts to get a better correction. All staff members were very professional and courteous. Thank you all for your true concern for your patients!

My husband has consistently gotten haphazard care from this clinic. Each time he goes, it's like they start all over with no resolution. Don't they read his chart? I'm on hold with them right now and have been for over 30 minutes. Is this how they honor veterans. Very poor customer service and care. BTW: I am also a veteran so being on hold for this duration is doubly unacceptable (hanging up now). Deserve NO stars.

If you want to be seen around your appointment time, you should probably show up and check in an hour early. I called more than an hour and a half prior to my appointment to ensure I was headed to the right place. The call center they make you call told me to go to the main hospital at 13000 Bruce B Downs. I arrived there to check in and was told I was at the wrong place. Then I drove to the correct location, checked in and was told to wait in my car for a phone call when they were ready for me. The lobby and parking lot looked like a DMV. TONS of people sitting around, waiting. Why bother making appointments if you can't actually see people at the time you told them to show up?

the clinic itself is great. the eyeglasses are useless. I have had issues with the last 3 pair I have gotten from them. I am using an old prescription at the moment that has worked better than the new pair. I can't see unless they are pushed up against my eyebrows, and everything else appears at a slope.

Love that post covid my eye exam doesn't take all day. I check in, wait a minute, & my doctor calls me in. Little while later, I'm picking out frames. Couple weeks later, here's my new specs. Definatly love it

Generally a wait. But ok. They see 200 veterans daily. I have no complaints. We earned this care. Vets pay the price for freedom.

Staff has become actually nice and professional since I was here 4 years ago. Very helpful with patience with me while I was trying to decide on glasses I really liked.
