OPT-ISM: Expert Eye Care

Dr. Sabin is truly wonderful. He is calm, patient, and incredibly informative, especially when explaining the eye tests required for lupus monitoring. He took the time to walk me through exactly what he was doing and why, which made the entire experience feel much less stressful. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and their long-term health. I always feel heard, supported, and well cared for in his office. Highly recommend Dr. Sabin and his team.

Our family has been going to OPT-ISM for many years, and we couldn't be happier. My kids have been patients here for a long time, and the experience has always been consistent, positive, and welcoming. The office itself is warm, kid-friendly, and truly inviting...it immediately puts both parents and kids at ease. Dr. Sabin always makes sure we're comfortable, takes the time to answer every question, and ensures everything is thoroughly explained and completed. The technology they use is incredible. My kids especially love being able to see and learn about the anatomy of their own eyes, it turns the visit into a learning experience instead of something intimidating. I highly recommend OPT-ISM for patients of all ages.

Dr. Sabin is the best eye doctor in Tampa! I have been going here for years and always have a great experience. They have the best equipment and highly recommend for both glasses and contacts! The staff is super responsive and easy to reach which is awesome.

I can't express how disappointed I am in this doctor's office since their move across the street. I understand that prices increase over time, but at this point it honestly feels like price gouging. I've purchased the exact same frames from this office for the past three times, every other year. The last two years, the front desk staff mis-ordered my frames. Both times, I had to make an extra trip just to discover the mistake. Instead of taking responsibility, they acted like it was somehow my fault -- even though it's the same frames I order every time. Come on. Let's talk about pricing. In 2023, my total was: Frames: $210 Lenses: $60 Exam: $60 Total: $330 Fast forward to December 2025: Frames: $330 (same frames) Lenses: $100 Exam: $99 That's a massive jump in just two years. When I went to pick up my glasses (after waiting for them to come in), I questioned the pricing because I genuinely thought it might be a mistake. I was then told that since I "upgraded" after the first mis-order, I actually owe them more money. What?? The front desk told me the suggested retail was $264 and that they mark that up -- somehow that becomes over $330. Meanwhile, the suggested retail on the original frames is $227, which means they're marking them up over 45%. Just wow. I chose to leave without causing a scene, but the combination of repeated ordering errors, dismissive customer service, and dramatic price increases is unacceptable. Patients deserve accountability, transparency, and fair pricing. Unfortunately, I experienced none of that here. I will be taking my business elsewhere

What a great experience! I've never enjoyed going to the eye doctor, and although it wasn't "fun", it was the best you could expect for a check up. Dr. Sabin was wonderful and helped me understand what was going on and how I can deal with it. If you're looking for an optometrist definitely don't hesitate to check them out.

Great exam. Everything was the right balance between efficiency and not feeling rushed. I was able to ask all the questions and get thoughtful answers. Front desk team was lovely. My daughter also enjoyed the visit because of the great collection of toys in the waiting room. One last thing, it's not normally something I bring up when it comes to reviewing a Dr but the interior design was impeccable I loved the place on the spot just for that.

I had a great experience at Optimism in Tampa. The staff was kind and efficient, and the ophthalmologist was thorough, professional, and easy to talk to. I never felt rushed and felt comfortable throughout my visit. I would absolutely recommend this practice!!!!!!

I've been seeing Dr. Sabin for several years now and always leave impressed! I've never had to wait to be seen and his exams are always quick and thorough. I love the new location! Today I brought in my 4 year old for an exam and the toys in the waiting room were such a nice touch. Thanks for always making my experience wonderful. :)
